thats sort of my question.  when is it ok, when is it not... i mean, is it a balancing act of doing it kindly, or more of a "just work on yourself" thing, or what?

i'm talking about other peopls egos.  mine is long gone

Well,  I don't really like to step on toes.  But, if I'm going to I make sure that I am in the right (for whatever reason I'm doing it.),  Or, I just don't like or don't give a shit about the person.  I'm still not sure if I'm thinking "stepping on toes" in the same way you are.

If you have to ask, you shouldn't be deflating people's egos in the first place.  It's only when you don't give a fuck what other people think that you're ready to start to skewering.

Well whenever you feel like doing it, go for it then.  Large egos are annoying anyways.

It's ok to step on toes when they land under your shoe.

Do what thou will, that's the law bro.

But really what others do is none of your business if you don't want it to be.

Who the hell can determine the size of one's own ego, much less someone else's ego?  This is an absurd distinction.

Which is the more spiritual stance:

My ego is bigger than your ego!

or

My ego is smaller than your ego!

Size is not an applicable concept to ego structure.  It might be worthwhile to consider flexibility or adaptability of one's personality/ego structure, or how effective your ego is in attaining personal goals or managing one's behavior according to one's values.

My ego is so flexible that it can accept your ego's metric of egoishness. :yesnod:
