Assume that you didnt want to do an extraction. And assume you weren't going to boil the cactus down.
Lets say that you cut up some slices of San Pedro.....Sat down....and maned the fuck up? 
Seriously ive tasted it and i will admit its fucking foul. But with the right mindset anything is possible. If i chewed it up VERY good and ate the whole 18 inches of cactus, What would happen?

Sure, this would work.
But I think you'll find it's easier in the long run to make a brew than eat 18 inches of straight-up cactus.

don't even bother slicing it up, just bite it off chunk by chunk...oh and don't bother taking the spines off either. You want to be a MAN about this.
Seriously though, if you eat over 2 pounds of anything you'll probably be sick. There is a reason why the natives of Peru boil this stuff, and its not cause they're pussies.

I've eaten the pieces without boiling it down. Not recommended.
Not only is it disgusting, you have this nasty blob in your stomach that takes forever to go away and gets in the way of your trip. It's a lose lose situation. Eat shit tasting cactus for awhile, then feel shitty (in the stomach, everywhere else feels goooood).

Ive done it before......
It will work.
Dont even need to chew it well.
Just start chomping away, have a GOOD an empty stomach beforehand.
If you can put away 5-6 plates at a buffet, you can eat it.
However, a slight modification, blend it up in the blender....... then you dont have to chew, just put some in your mouth and wash it down with a refreshing beverage.........
People are saying you will be sick to your stomach..... naw.... maybe a bit nauseas for awhile...... but soon enuf your tummy wont take it anymore, and you will either puke automatically...... or you could gag yourself a bit, maybe save a spoonful of it , and when you start feeling naseaus and tingly, about 20-30 mins after eating, mouth all cleaned out of that foul taste and it is receding into your memory...........
Take that lil bit into your mouth and hold it while you gag reflex kicks in, dont supress it. 
P.S. you are going to want to consume all of it within an hour or less if possible, and then keep it down for around another hour if possible... you should feel some effects coming on lightly before you purge.

Erm, I should also mention, this is not a RECOMENDED way to consume.....
You should stop being so lazy and boil it down.
