what is it now with dark psytrance being super trendy? the last thing i want to hear on the dancefloor with a head full of shrooms is chainsaws and babies crying lol so i wonder why it became such a norm. i do like the whole psychological twisting aspect of dark psytrance and wanted to know if anyone here knew of some good dark psy artists i should check out.

Dark psy is pretty good stuff. I can't listen to a whole lot of it though. It starts to get old after a while. But check out the Compilation "A Violent Reaction". It has some pretty good artist worth checking out.

never been totally impressed by psy as music until i heard this 'dark' psy. seems the best for straight out trancing, very psychedelic and twisted. probably also like it because it's void of the cheesy melodies, cant say i've heard any with crying babies tho :P
favorite album is probably Derango - Tumult. some say this isnt really dark (forestpsy?) but it's highly recommended
CPC - Double Bouble is another fantastic album, The Nommos - Primal Scream is very cool too.

There's plenty of Dark Psy with some fairly fucked up samples, and yes, completly void of happy stuff.

Uhm.... Xenomorph is german dark psy... really glitchy, not very melodic, freaky stuff. Hydraglyph, Pitch Hikers, Shift, those guys are S. African darkpsy, and while they have some melodies, they're pretty dark and grindy as far as a sound goes. Nice intense basslines too. But, I'm a sucker for Full On... and dark, menacing full on grabs my interest quick.

real psytrance needs to be done out side. indoor should only be in the spirit of the out door cause there might be snow around preventing it.
i love psytrance i dunno what this dark psy is but i will stick to the kind i have its not all the rage its for the people that know its kept rather secret to keep out dick heads.

personally i dont find hallucinogen that bad but the only time i saw him was at nokia with disco biscuits and hte biscuit crowd justt didnt know how to psytrance dance and it was funnny.
as i said i prefer real psytrance
