None taken. I just wanted some input on that growth in the bowl. I think all it needs is moist air flow right now and that would cause it to grow more.

Morel kits are sold on-line. They say to take the contents and spread it out over a 6ft square and the following year you will have morels. And each year after there will be less. But it would be nice to know whats in their kit. Because outside of their kit the only other variable is the weather conditions.

Not exactly.
The kits are inoculated on media that is nutrient sufficient, and rarely they will have some sclerotial growth. Plus putting the contents over a 6 ft square, usually these attempts are hit and miss, largely because the area or substrate isn't quite what you should be putting it on in order for sclerotia to develop. So, 6 ft square of what? In the woods there is a humus layer, a sedimentary layer, ...
I think the best parameters for the development of sclerotia are: - high humidity - absolute darkness - temperatures that do not exceed 71.6°F - a sealed environment, CO2 build up

If they have patented their method, that means have we complete access to it. By their very nature patents are open, and very precise. They can, however, have it labeled a trade secret, which is another matter entirely.
You see: Google patent search for morels

Is a good article if you can get your hands on it. University students... Check your library! Everybody else... Check your library too but you may be out of luck.

i think it would be worth a shot to get some pine needles of douglas fir and grind them up and hard wood leaves of different kinds and grind them up then use mychorrizae for root structure and in a couple of weeks then add your morel culture bang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but then again who knows where i live they seem to like to grow on a 65 degree angled hill side full of moss

That photo looks fake. If you look at the fruitbodies in that photo, there are a lot that are mysteriously identical. NOt identical as in strain isolate, identical as in photshopped. If stamets published it tho, sigh, it must be so.

I know its real. It just looks strange. Prolly cus i've never seen morels in vitro tho. Only ever seen them in the woods. I eat them raw right off the forest floor, just barely brush the dirt off. Utterly delicious. My friends look at me like im effin crazy. We'll just be hiking, then if i spot one i start cheering then proceed to positively id and consume.

The casing indeed looks scorched. Does anyone else think its unusually dark? There may be merit to the fire theory.

From what I understand Morels are deprived of nutrients until just before fruiting and the substrate is kept wet so it's probably just really wet?
