Curious if you have any recipes other than trail mix to share with me. Say some sort of mix you can make biscuits with in those little metal backpacking cup/canisters.

I usually just bring a bunch of summer sausage, cheese and crackers if im only going for a few days to a week, I have never made trailmix.
But I would probably smash up some protein bars and stir that up with some chex mix and marshmallows

have you checked out PDU's thread on biking through bolivia and peru?! he has a lot of great ideas in it for food when your traveling through the wilderness like that.
he has a particular recipe that i learned in scouts thats rather good, cold pasta!
mix the pasta in a closed ziplock with the right amount of water, with a bunch of dried herbs and a little olive oil and salt(or soy sauce), and let it soak up while you walk. by lunchtime it should be pretty soft. it really hits the spot with mixed nuts and a fire roasted potato
