An older gentleman offered to give me his stuff today. He was maybe 45 and didnt look like he had many years left in him. "Take anything you may want." Those were his exact words. Makes me think this guy is all alone, dying, and is sick of life. Poor fella. He looked bad. I didnt ask, but it looked like chemo treatment to me. Had meds lying EVERYWHERE too. Sad. I have to go back there latter next week to finish the job.

i have felt like giving ALL my shit away every once in a while. im not depressed in any way but i really do believe the things we own, own us. i really would do it, but America is just not a place you can do that.
i would say let him know that he still matters. spend time with him, even if you do anything. talking for even a couple minutes with someone can change their mood completely.
