A few plants in my yard
    #8876979 - 09/04/08 01:01 PM (2 months, 29 days ago)

Hey guys, just thought Id share a few of my plants with you The first ones are the Banana forest where I get all my free Banana plants from. Also, there is a picture of ones I got from there a few months ago, that I have growing in my yard. The next three are cuttings from all my various plants I have growing, that Im going to sell at my yard sale Saturday.I just took all the cuttings a week ago,so hopefully they are fully rooted. The next four are various morning glories that have taken over my yard.I wish I would have taken the pic a few days earlier, because there were tons of heavenly blue blooms everywhere.the next one is a pineapple I grew form the top of a fruit I purchased at the super market.Next we have my aloe that is in full bloom. Then we have my Dusty Miller plant. After that,we have my Passion vine, and purple sweet potato growing side by side.I cant believe that just a couple of months ago, that sweet potato was a mere cutting.Last, but not least we have my Elephant Ear,Sago Palm, and more Banana plants.Hope you like the pics, and that aint even half of the plants I have.Ill post more pics later on.Ok,it just will not let me post pics with a thread I start,so some body please just post anything after me,and then I'll be able to post the pics.THANKS

yeah, i saw your topic, you got some cool plants too, but i wouldn't be able to tell if mine is similar from the photo..

they're totally edible though, somewhat swetter than the regular bananas and grow taller than the regular too (the plant, not the banana ;D)

banana names are confuse to me:hehehe:

Yo guys, thought I'd share a few more pics of my yard plants with you.The first pic are some Asian plum trees,I grew from seed, and boy did they take long to germinate, nearly a month!the next is a Norfolk Island pine, that I found in a pot thrown on the side of the road, with a bunch of garbage. It looked like pure shit, totally brown, broken branches, but I had faith in it,watered, and fertilized it,and now it look wonderful.the next one is my Aloe blooming, and I meant to post it with the first pics, but some how ended up with two pics of my pine apple plant. Then we have the beautiful Persian Shield plant.Next we have one of my Okra plants, but I wish I could have got a pic of the blooms on it.Red cypruss vine is next, and it contains LSA,just like it's cousin the morning glory. The rest i wont bother with, because I'm sure everybody knows what they are.

Yo guys,I was bored,so I decided to take a few pics of some of my plants.I'd also like to give a shout out to My good buddies CPW,and Ethnoguy, and justme, for supplying me with seeds, and plants from the first two pics:grin:The first pic is of Datura Metel grown from seeds that Justme sent me.I thought they would never sprout, and it took over a month. The second pic is off my N.Rustica seedlings from seeds I got from Ethnoguy, and the three cacti in the pic are Bridgesii cacti I got from CPW.I lost one due to rot,and the bigger one he sent me hasn't rooted yet.The third pic is from a plant called Rabbit Tobacco.they say it contains medicinal properties, but I can't quite find out what they may be.Anyway, the leaves feel like velvet, and I've never touched any plant leaf so soft. When they get bigger, they look just like a big fuzzy Tobacco plant. The fourth pic are of my seed grown Tersheckii I got from CPW about 3 years ago.I can't believe all the drenching rain we had this summer, and it didn't even phase them!5th pic is my reflowering Klipp Dagga. The first time it bloomed it got super huge, and looked flawless. This time around it didn't get as tall, and it has a bunch of yellowing leaves.the 6th pic are my only three tomato plants that made it this year.I planted multiple crops of fruits, and veggies all year here, and the bugs, birds, and a major fungus kept wiping everything out.So I dug up the best three, and put them in pots, and now they are thriving, and just started producing fruit. The 7th pic are my Coleus, and I'll tell you what, those were just 4 small cutting I planted in that area, and they took it over.the 8th pic are of my Banana plants, and they have gotten huge! I got them when they were maybe a foot or so tall, back in May,or June, and now the tallest is at least 8 foot!Next is my pineapple grown from a supermarket plant.I just twisted off the top, rooted it in soil, and ate the fruit. If you look in the middle of the plant, you can see the first initial crown that I rooted, and the side branching of the dark green growth.I'm going to get actual fruit from it next year, and i can't wait!Last is my Asian plum tree grown from some seed that an old lady gave me.I grew it from seeds, and the seeds took over 2 months to sprout!Well, hope you guys enjoyed a small portion of my best plants, and tell me what you all think

Absolutely beautiful, sparking my jealousy over all people with gardens once more

Bit of a late response, but dwarf cavendish bananas are supposed to be able to fruit. I have no experience with that, though. It seems to be quite a bitch to get them to fruit this far north.

Thanks guys, and uarewotueat,I guess it is subtropical compared to England, hehe, but it still gets cold at night here, and last year we had some 20's for a few nights, but we wont get any near freezing to freezing temps until late December,or January, and it still stays really warm during the day.
