poppy mead?
    #8871922 - 09/03/08 02:23 PM (2 months, 30 days ago)

let me know if this sounds good or not worth the effort:

-heat water to a boil
-add fresh poppy pods (papaver somniferum) and fresh poppy flower petals
-add enough honey for fermentation

-strain mixture and fill large glass container with airlock ontop

-add proper amount of yeast

wait till yeast settles to bottom and solution is fairly clear, then pour off and bottle for drinking.

*id guess this would probably taste gross, but just wondering if it's possible/anyone has tried it?

thanks!

I'd wait until fermentation was over before adding the poppies. You could try pouring some poppy tea into the mead right before you bottle it.
