 ripeness. tell tale signs

ive got my first garden this year, and everything is producing.
i need to know tho, whens the "perfect" time to pick things such as:
greenbeans/pole beans
green bell peppers
cukes
corn
okra
like is there a certain feel, look, etc.
these are the ones that arent so obvious to me, such as tomatoes

ok, but its not like a tip starts browning, or it get soft to touch or somethin like that.
i dont have a big enough garden to just pick at will to see if its ripe, i would like to be sure, so i can enjoy my fruits

green bell peppers As big/small as you like them
cukes same as above To big and they get tough
corn when the hair turns brown..
okra Smaller size isn't as tougher as older ones are..

i'm growing bell peppers and I like them best when they are starting to turn brownish/red

They are called sweet peppers, but they taste the same to me. Its probably referring to the fact that they get less bitter.

make for sure you dont let the okra sit too long, pick them when young. just kinda mess with them, pop them open or run a fingernail down it so you get yourself familiar with them. they get real tough real quick and they become 100% wortheless. a good thing is that okra does good in the freezer.
with the green beens dont let them get real long to the point where they turn white and get all kinds of fibery, stringy and tastelss. popem open, taste them.
also you can go down to the local fruit and veggie stand and talk to them folks about it and get advice with examples right there to look at.
