 odd smell

one of my smaller wbs casings got too wet, theres like a puddle of myc piss in one spot(i try draining it out, a little at a time)
It smells a little yeasty, kind of sour
but its still pinning/growing normally
will the excess liquid/odd smell effect end result?

that smell would make me assume its a bacterial infection.
i cracked my first fully colonized jars open yesterday and its kinda hard to describe the smell. not a yeasty smell but a light mushroomy flavor? go sniff a pack of mushrooms in the grocery store, it probably smells like that but fresher and more prominent.

yeah, it had the nice mushroomy smell when i birthed it/crumbled into my casing... the yeast smell is more recent, started around the same time pinning did.

From my experience if it smells sour at all, its no good. I had 3 casings that pinned and fruited, then right as some of the veils were breaking that green mold reared its ugly head. Id put it as far away from the rest of your gear as you can.....if you bother keeping it. It should have a shroomy kinda smell to it. Mushrooms are pretty good at telling you when something isnt right so Ive learned.

mmm, i put it in a low rh terrarium overnight in an attempt to evaporate some of the moisture
and it worked, lol... now that my casing has stopped pissing everywhere the smell went away lol

check if it gets wet again in a few days.. it sounds like bacterial infection
