No Usain Bolt threads?

That was absolutely fucking disgustingly amazing.
I'd post the video but there aren't any on YouTube. Either way, fucking amazing.

Props to Phelps too.

He is a hard person to like but he is gifted that's for sure.

Too bad he pulled up at the last moment.

I read some interview where he said he woke up around 11, ate some chicken nuggets, napped for a few hours, ate some more chicken nuggets, then went to the track.

Haha.

I've never seen anyone running 100 meters under 10 seconds make it look that easy...

I'm looking forward to seeing Jeremy Wariner tonight in the 400m. He won gold in Athens and will be trying to break Michael Johnson's WR in that event.

Kind of a shame if you ask me.  Bolt could have broken the record by a lot more had he not been showboating.

If he had run below 9.6  it would have been one of the largest drops in the world record in the last 30-40 years or so.

I don't know if showboating and celebrating are the same thing.
He was crushing and he knew it. Who cares how much he broke it by, that was amazing.

For me his antics detracted a bit from his performance but I realize he's only 21 years old and will mature in time.

He ran his 200 tonight like he was taking a nap. In context, I have never seen anyone DESTROY their competition with such ease. Unreal.

C'mon. im sick of people hating on this dude for being happy about crushing the competition. He's like the only one out there having fun with it. It's the Olympic GAMES.

I'm all for having fun but do it after the event.

Also give it your best. You owe that to the crowd, your competition and yourself.
But as I said he's young so it's somewhat understandable.

He's a great young talent in the rough and that's scary considering how good he is right now.

He pulled up for a reason, why overdo it? He's proud of who he is and what he does. It's not like he was taunting them. He's just superior in skill.

Again, this young man (almost said "boy" and then realized that would be "racist") anyway, this young man is the most dominant athlete at what he does that I have ever seen, so far.

Anyone wanna jump in on that??

Sure.

I believe only 8 men have won the 100 AND 200m double in olympic history.  If Bolt does it, he's in elite company.

On top of this, he has the 100m WR.  If he adds the 200m WR, then sure, you talk about him being the best ever, especially since Johnson's record has stood for so long.

I think he had the potential to set a much more dominant record in the 100.  If he had kept his head down and ran the entire race, we might have seen a 100m WR that stood for 10+ years (it might still last that long but who knows).  A lasting 100m WR seems to be a rarity, as the last few haven't lasted more than a year or two.

Imagine if he loses the 200, and his 100 WR is broken in the next two years.  People will say: "Usain who?"  Granted, this is all speculation and we'll see the 200 in a few hours.

Okay, so he did it:  I'd say Bolt is the best ever.  Pretty much by definition.  2 golds, to WR's.

Actually once they get late in the race they don't keep their head down, so that wouldn't have helped.
