if I remember correctly, ALL models made by Oster will fit your standard sized Mason jars (ball/mason/kerr,etc. at least the pint sized- maybe even the narrow-mouth quart-sized.

You know i burned up 2 of those Oster blenders in the last year making freaking protein shakes. I guess they would be fine if you were not putting a heavy load on them. Guess thats what i get for buying crap from walmart.
By the way why is this in Advanced Mycology?

Your point?
All your doing is asking if the base will fit the jar.
Look: http://www.oster.com/ProductCategory.aspx?mpcid=2&cname=Blenders&cid=1553&pid=1373
That accessory happens to to have the same size mouth as a pint mason jar.
If you look in the parts section they only have 3 replacement blender jars and they are not model specific which means they probably all have the same size base.

I sterilize “bake-a-lite” blender assemblies with mason jars regularly. You need to keep extra base gaskets on hand as they will deform and leak after maybe a dozen runs. There are no readily available high temp replacements.
Have yet to have a blade shaft seal go bad, although while shopping spares at junk stores, I do check them as I have found several that leaked.
You can find the bases sold alone. All from Mexico that I have seen. None of my bases are Hecho en Mexico, so no guarantee on the shaft seal from me.

Hmm check the base, bakelite, plastic or whatever it is, I roached one in a PC run and haven't used them since...sticky, melted mess.

Meh it's close enough to cloning, etc. it doesn't matter. Not like this place is bustling and a topic on the fence between general and advanced is going to kill it.
I say anyone using a blender deserves a thread in advanced, considering the material I have seen in general lately

just save up your pennies and get the real thing you will save a whole lot of time. like most lab ware, is nice to have something that can handle the stresses of sterilization.

Sorry to hear. Maybe I'm just lucky 'cause mine have stood up perfectly, except for the seal rings.
