Once women begin to think about settling down, they tend to look for guys who can be providers and support them financially and emotionally.

When I'm 50 I highly doubt that I'll want to have a serious relationship (or even a not so serious one) with a girl that is young enough to be my daughter. I mean, she'd have to be very mature.
Plus the difference in age means differences in what people want out of life. A 25yo will probably want a family, or at least have it as an option. I certainly wouldn't want to start a family at 50. When you're young you want to go out to bars and party. If you're going out to bars and partying like a 20yo when you're 50 you're just a loser.
The whole security and stability thing makes sense, so I understand the attraction to older men, I'm just saying that there is a limit.

Your acceptable dating age-range increases as a function of time. To say "well it's creepy to date someone ten years older than you" may or may not be true depending on your age.
If you're 15 then yeah, dating a 25 year old is creepy. If you're 25 and dating a 35 year old, not so much.
