thanks for the answers,

one other question:

does ayahuasca also have the rare side effect of triggering psychosis in people who are prone to it?

like mushrooms and lsd can

not so rare if you use the shroomery folk as a sample.

so i did ayahuasca with santo daime, it was beautiful.
i can't say if its "better" or "worse" than mushrooms because

i haven't tripped in over 2 years,
and the last times i tripped i was much less in balance...

the last 2 years i did a lot of meditation which helped me
i think during this experience because i loved every second...

and by loving the experience its like my ego went very quiet and peaceful...
one thing i notice about ayahuasca is that you can have a strong divine experience,

but at the same time act very sober and in control.
i could have talked with people from "the outside world" (in the system),
and i doubt they would have noticed except for...

perhaps some pupildilation.
but maybe people can be this "in control" too on mushrooms,
but i just couldn't be like that yet 2 years ago because i still hadn't realy learn to love, and stop fearing very much.

there were great people at santo daime with outlooks on life and the daime-doctrine itself, differing.
some people take the jesus maria thing literally,
for other people those names.. the father, mother and son...
as well as some of the forest deities which are being sung too..;

are just as other words for the same ONE LOVE/ONE GOD.
so all in all good experience,

the only downside is perhaps the christian lyrics, which are a bit hard to adapt to...
but maybe i'll be able to adapt to them pretty easily,

in that case i will have found a new favorite social thing to do, hehe.
for the people that go to daime in the future,

it really helps to even if u dont know the songs,
to hum them along.. because this way you actively participate,
this helps the group bonding and it seems to help the ritual.

i used to think that the singing and music thing wasn't fun,
but it's fun because this way you kind of concentrate your intent a lot...

and also the social aspect of of all people praying (singing=praying) the ONELOVE/ONEGOD.
seems to be work nice.

thats all i had to say,
thanks for the advice in this thread and in other threads...

i thhought a loong time about wether to use entheogens again,
and reading about other people experiences helped me remember that entheogen experences are great... so no point in abstaining

wow suddenly it dawned on me how changed i feel,

it's now 19.00pm
i've downed the santo daime-brew @ 19.00
and i've slept from 10 till 14.30 feeling awake and refreshed...

very unusual for me as i always need loads of sleep!

i've never really believed much in chakras

but it's like my heart chakra and throat chakra and alse base chakra feels healed,

and it's like the chakra above the head is also open,

i feel full of energy, love, happiness

i feel like i can now make contact with strangers much more easily,
because the ego feeling of "seperateness" is no longer there.

and it feels like the love of the trip is still working,
i think that it is possible that this feeling will last forever because

it seems to not be caused by a chemical,
it seems like the result of stored energy blockages which have been cleared.

and best of all it seems like the meditation i was doing (NISARGADATTA - I AM THAT),
the last 7 months is exactly the same as the that can be felt during ayahuasca (and also after, apprently)

but stronger.
the nisargadatta technique is: "do nothing but let everything flow"

psycehdelics are just like that, lovely!
except that they seem to accelerate results and be able to resolve energy problems very easily.

( sorry i don't mean to brag)

love bless you all

i remember attending a workshop of Robert Anton Wilson's where somebody asked him about his impressions of DMT.  he said he personally didn't like it, but that was just him, that everyone had their own neurotransmitters.

it's been about 8 years since i've worked w/ ayahuasca plants, but during that time it was my preference over other entheogens.  at the moment, i prefer to work w/ LSD.

my opinion is that everyone has to figure out what works for themselves and no particular substance is intrinsically better than another.

g'luck
