We have 1/2 pint and pint sized jars as well. All of our jars contain rye berries soaked in our secret, nutrient enriched solution which is designed to promote strong, healthy mycelium growth. You may have overlooked this.

other than fractional sterilization (too much work with too big of a chance of failure), since when do you not have to pc grains?

Ya, you better shop around, there are some real rip-offs out there charging exhorbitant prices for 10 cnts worth of grain and a .50 cent jar.
Your prolly better off getting your own pc and making your own. You can prolly find one in your local thrift shop for about $2.
