I have two stories about mushrooms people could work on.
    #8699531 - 07/29/08 11:13 PM (4 years, 9 months ago)

They are in much different styles.
A group of scientists researching telepathy eat a mushroom, put on caps connecting their heads with wires and zap a mushroom, which produces a mushroom that is several mushrooms sharing the same cap, in the shape of the parthenon, causing a cosmic rift between the miniature parthenon and the real parthenon. When they recreate this experiment in the original parthenon, they have visions of ancient greeks with animal humanoid bodies and huge mushrooms around. Then, an insect bites one of them, causing the scientist to disappear into ancient Greece and the insect to transform into a humanoid insect. When the insect steps into the miniature parthenon it too disappears into a higher realm and calls all earth insects of its type to the miniature parthenon. Meanwhile the disappeared scientist has been spotted by Zeus and other gods and is simultaneously being shown both the possible future of his world and the realm into which the insect disappeared into. It is tearing apart his mind, but Cronus blesses him with the strength to carry on. He sees billions of dinosaur size insects fighting for control of the earth, governments fleeing to secret moon bases, plotting to blow up the earth, and a strange insect dimension which gives him super genius. Hephaestus joins with him to plot a scheme to create a similar Stonehenge mushroom portal which would blast all the insects back to the netherworld. Maybe they would sequester help from the ancient egyptians, building a mushroom pyramid, and a mushroom sphinx, and support from the ancient Mayans, creating mycological Mayan pyramid.. and then it all is shrunk into a miniature mushroom Coloseum where all the ancient gods battle it out with the mega powerful insects.

And this one is more of a poem.
I saw two mushrooms walking along. So I tripped them. They fell on the ground, and splattered spores everywhere. They started to fight with me, so I ate their toes. One was named Shiloh and one was named Sabine. Now we raise cows together for fun and profit. They're a little smelly, but I think nothing of it.
