Salem man arrested for exceeding medical marijuana limits

SALEM - Marion County sheriff's deputies have arrested a Salem man and charged him with growing several times the amount of marijuana he was allowed to cultivate under the state's medical marijuana laws.
They say they believe he hired a 15-year-old boy to help him with his plants.
Fifty-six-year-old Marc Kauffman was arrested after police found 35 mature plants and eight immature ones outside his home.
The law for growers with a Medical Marijuana Program card has a limit of six mature and 18 immature plants and up to a half pound of dried marijuana.

Why'd he have to go overstepping his bounds? I mean six different mature plants all to yourself is plenty plus 16 immature plants ready to replace those....just plain stupid

whoever this guy us who got busted is obviously an idiot, he hired a 15 year old.. lol. And on top of that with medical he could of had 6 plants with a pound on each one.

granted, drug laws suck, but things are headed in the right direction. i'd rather get there slowly than not get there at all. if cases like these keep occurring, we'll never get there
