 Help Me Identify This Midwestern Mushie

Please help me identify this strange shroom. I have never seen anything like it.
Habitat: Wood. Bark mulch.
Gills: Unable to tell. Mushrooms were not disturbed.
Stem: Whiteish changing to an orangeish to a pink. Stems are hollow and texture is like a dry sponge. Stem appears to grow right through the cap.
Cap: Brown & very slimy. When you touch the cap it leaves a mud like substance on your fingers.
Spore print color: Unable to print.
Bruising: No color change was observed.
Location: Picked in Midwestern USA.
Month : July
Temperature : 70-80 degrees
Precipitation : Damp, light rain.

Wow.
A species of mushroom that solely depends on flys to distribute their spores.
That is pretty amazing.
