    #8672417 - 07/23/08 03:37 PM (1 month, 14 days ago)

Hey guys, I was thinking about starting up a garden of legal Psychoactive plants and was hoping people with little more experience could give me a hand
There is another thread that discusses this

but its from a fairly long while ago and wasnt sure if some of the plants listed had been illegalized since the list was made

If the thread gets some replies and stuff I will make a list of plants submitted to the thread in this first post

Thanks for the help

Please note that unless the poster indicates the plant is Illegal in Canada or the US or a certain state but is legal in Canada or the US
Example:
Quote:

-lophophora williamsii: legal in canada, illegal in the US

How about a list of illegal ones. Its much shorter. All ya gotta do is go to the DEA website.

Well, I was thinking I would put notes next to the name of the plant indicating weither they are legal in canada or the US or both

Im primarily concerned about Canadian ones given that I live in canada but I think this would be rather helpful to Americans aswell so ... yea ;D

I think he means the intersection of "legal" and "psychoactive", rather than the set of all legal plants.

I don't know the latin names for most of these, but here goes, this is according to canadian law

Amanita muscaria mushrooms
syrian rue seeds (contains high amounts of MAOI's be sure you follow the correct diet at least 24 hours before consumption)
Yage (high amounts of MAOI's as well)
mimosa hostillis rootbark
wild dagga
lions tail
skullcap
damiana
calea zachetachichi (dream herb)
white lotus
blue lotus
sacred blue lilly
opium poppies (be careful with these, it's easy to overdose with pod tea)
prickly poppy
cebil seeds (smoking these makes you nauseas as fuck, probably due to the bufotenine, witch can kill you in large doses)
passion flower (contains MAOI's, small amounts but enough to warrant caution, especialy with the extract)
kanna
iboga
sinuichi
yopo
kava (not sure of the legal status here in canada as I've had trouble ordering it, but some companies do sell it, I know it's legal in the states for sure though)
yohimbe
calamus root
betel nut
Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds
morning glory seeds (ONLY USE THE SEEDS, the leaves are poisonous)
intoxicating mint

I really don't recommend fucking with these, they can easily kill you or cause you to do something stupid enough to kill you... they can cause extreme delerium

belladonna
datura
deadly nightshade
hemlock
mandrake

I know there's a fuck of a lot more, but i can't remember them at the moment, those are just the ones I can list off the top of my head, I'll list some more in a bit.

I've also tried most of the plants/extracts of plants in my list, so if you have any questions about the effects of some of them i'll help as best I can.

I was mostly going for a list of plants for growers who dont wanna get in shit for growing these kinda plants
However I was thinking about indicating which ones are dangerously poisonous
Like i assume most if not all of them will kill you with too much but a friend of mine got put in the hospital by Detura so I was thinking id put a warning by ones like that
Do you think you could help me at all with that?

poppies are actually illegal in the united states if they can prove you know their species.... theres a high degree of selective enforcement

say i had some poppies growing in my back yard, that would be acceptable providing i wasnt harvesting them, any evidence of scoring or harvesting and they would come down on you if they saw it

say i had that same patch of poppies and a couple of mj plants. they would assume because you grow mj, then you must be growing the poppies for drugs too, so you would most likely get hit with manufacture of morphine and marijuana, even without said evidence of harvesting

hypothetically speaking, but this is my understanding of the law, im reminded of a post where a user said that a man was prosecuted succesfully for gardening poppies for the seeds to cook with

If you're growing poppies with any other plants the cops know are psychoactive or if there is evidence of any of those plants being a precursor to drug production.
