Ha, I used to fucking love ETID, got into them like a year before Hot Damn! came out. I remember going to a record store in Jersey near my sister's house to pick it up and I listened to it like allll day when I got it.
badass album. It is Acid Bath V2.0, which turned into Dead Boy and the Elephant Men. Acid Bath really doesnt do it for me, and dead boy is too slow, but this shit is an incredible album. every song on there is gold, and the very last one has a clip from Gummo in it. By the time you are done listening to this album you dont know if you should kill yourself, or someone else.
Dax Riggs is like the jeff buckley of metal, lyrically and vocally.

icelander: I remember this big yellow firey ball up in the sky. It was scary because it disappeared all the time and we had to dance naked and fuck all the women to bring it back.

Wow, thank you! I wasn't even aware it was leaked yet, and having just recently gotten back into HEX, this is a pleasant surprise

are YOU above the ignorance?
We are always acting on what has just finished happening. It happened at least 1/30th of a second ago. We think we're in the present, but we aren't. The present we know is only a movie of the past. Ken Kesey

I think Deftones are pretty heavy. Cold is kind of heavy. Myself I am liking heavy melody and slow clunking crashing sunlight, a bit too late in the day to get one to rise, a bit too slow even the speed of light.
Since nobody else is handling deathcore I'll do it
Demo-era Knights of the Abyss. You have no idea how good this shit is until you listen to it. Doesn't sound like any of thier newer stuff which kinda sucks.

That's a great album. The first two Ion Dissonance albums kinda have that sound

"the apocalypse's doomy, amp-destroying fifth horseman...galloping mammoth metal" - SPIN
"unbelievably heavy...massive crunching riffs and drums that slam like vault doors" - REVOLVER
Massive power trio HIGH ON FIRE are a supersonic exercise in conquest by volume. Equal parts molten metal and earthquake panic, HIGH ON FIRE's MOTORHEAD-meets-SLAYER roar is outrageously loud and absolutely punishing. With Blessed Black Wings, guitarist / vocalist Matt Pike (ex-SLEEP) unleashes a devastating combination of bombastic guitar and howling war cries, weaving fantastical tales of supernatural beasts, forgotten battles and rivers of blood over an unstoppable bass and drum assault. HIGH ON FIRE are a class unto themselves, manhandling rock music while locking into grooves that transcend time.

yeah, i'm liking it to, at first i thought it would progress into something loud, slow and heavy but it stayed pretty chill throughout the album, i like it, after i "got it".
