If you notice at the base of the stipes on sum of these there are pine needles attached, not the type of pine needles found in landscaping areas neighborhoods, business parks, etc but from underneath loblolly in the woods. They have more of an orangeish color, a fresh color unlike the ones used in landscaping which are more of a gray color.

The earth was so dry that it was hard to get these out with out damaging sum of the stipes, you can see it on a few of them, how they split.

Some people ask, "Weiliiiiiii why do you pick the ones that are so small" because they are very potent. 7-10 of these little guys will send you into orbit.

If 7 will send you in orbit... looks like you have enough to send you to the moon.

Do they grow in florida?

Beege, they grow in GA only. I need to collect spores on a piece of glass then scrape them up and go cross country with them in a super soaker and spray the spore solution everywhere.

We have used the search engine and read up ALOT on weilii-their habitat, spore print, color of bruising, counties in GA to look for them, and smell (even though we havent read anything of what this distinct smell smells like-is it cat piss? or poop? lol)  anywayz, we just got back after walking around a local park for afew hours and found nothing. I know people on here have been searching longer then we have and found nothing but its so frustrating, cuz assholes around here are selling the damn things and are greedy. My girlfriend and I have spent countless hours walking around the woods that we think are good habitats for them-humid, low elevation, a lot of canopy shading the area, pine straw and sugargum "balls" present on the ground- but NOTHING-and Jaci and I have read a bunch of stories about guys just walking around and coming upon them but we have been trying so hard. so can anyone out there describe their smell?? or invite me with them to go hunting, or even just point me in the right direction.

super hard to describe a smell, but I'll give it a shot.  It's a distinct aroma somewhat like chocolate only not as sweet.  I find mine in Fescue, so there is a hint of earthy fescue there as well.  Really fresh ones remind me of the cucumbers/peanut sauce you get at Thai restaurants.  All I can tell you is that it's pretty subtle but it doesn't smell anything like any other mushrooms ive found...definately not like cat piss - It's pleasant - not sour or bitter or sharp, its a nice round earthy, peanutbutter, cucumber, chocolate, fresh , slightly sweet, yummy smell...at least for me.  Hope that helps a little.:peace:

greetings from the bahamas everyone, been here a week and rain only once but i did find a few types of fungus here. Anyways i put a pair of my shorts i havent worn yet on today and wouldnt you know i forgot a few weilii in my cargo pocket lol. i took the oldest and set it in the perfect habitat here. Im sure it wont do much but wouldnt it be awsome if i came back next year to find so sort of mutated type of weilii out here? the spot its in is irrigated so who knows... At any rate just wanted to say hello and have an irie good weekend, JAH BOI!!
