Most forums have full-featured font resizing...

Most browsers do too. Does Ctrl-+ not work for you? Anyway you can try this, go to your display preferences, click the "Custom Style" link near the top, and in the box which appears paste this text:
Code:
a, .darktable, .lighttable, .forumtitle, .tdheader, .small, .forumdescript, .navigation {font-size:120% !important}
Maybe not as convenient as you're used to but it should have the desired effect.

I'm talking about formatting your post, like you can do with italicizing, boldening, underlining, changing the color... Most forums also have an option for making text bigger or smaller.

Oh okay I see what you mean, yeah I guess that's an omission on our part (Stein's using the mod's ability to embed HTML directly in a post). It could probably be added, although I shudder to think of the creative ways people would come up with to abuse it.

I would like to get spoiler tags, overlines, and strikethroughs. I don't really care about full featured font resizing and consider it distracting. If JH05 wants to post really large and annoying text, they can do it with an image. Small text can be achieved with sup and sub nested together: small

What are these spoiler tags I've heard about? I feel like this is the third time today I've seen a mention of them at various places.

They hide text to prevent spoilers.
The easiest way they are implemented is as spans with the text color the same as the background color, then on hover the text color is changed to a contrasting color.
I've seen pong implemented in BBcode thanks to spoiler tags. The shroomery must have them before we can have fully EXPERTBBCODE!

Sounds pretty tight.
