 Only one side of PF Jars colonizing?

My friend recently started on her first grow. She inoculated 10 PF Jars with BRF + vermiculite 8 days ago. Six of the jars have started colonizing, and thats pretty awesome... What concerns her though is that even though she inoculated the jars at four points, against the glass, the mycelium is only visible at two points in every jar. Two nickel sized growths, as opposed to four.
What would cause this? The jars WILL eventually colonize, right? Theyll just take longer than they should?

sometimes it takes a litte bit for spores to do their thing. sometimes they dont even do their thing. it may take more time, also with a little more chance of contam, but the mycelium should make its way around.

Did you flame sterilize in between each hole? That could cause it. No need to do so, if you did that

flame sterilizing between each hole is rather tedious i believe. mabye every 4. if theres no myc or anything growing there you should be straight. just hope myc pops up before something else. also when you flame sterilize so often your needle never really cools. dont char your spores now.

yes they will eventually colonize i just had this happen to me; only one side colonized....it may take a while but it will happen

As long as you have growth, you should be okay. The myc will make it's way around. Congratulations! (to your friend).

Oh, it was a pain in the ass. Haha. She was just being obsessively sterile I guess, because it's her first time and all.

That's what I thought... until the glove box went up in flames from too much alcohol and being a little lighter happy.

Rotate those jars. Especially if they are sitting close together.

I don't know but it does. Turn them and rotate. I don't know how you have them, But if they are in a grid pattern touching or close to each other they are not getting the same amount of heat. The ones in the center are hotter than the "outside" of the outside jars. If they are lined up in a row up against a wall that will cause them to only colonize on one side.

I don't think rotating jars does anything. It's simply common sense. They're SEPERATE. Maybe rotating them when you inoculate helps spread the spores. I also have a friend that is having this problem. He did 10 jars 3 weeks ago. 4 didn't colonize at all and 6 colonized in only one spot(out of three) It happened in his last batch as well. Doesn't really hurt anything just delays it about a week. He flames the needle every 3 or 4 JARS and has never once had a contam.

You would be surprises. I first read about rotating them in PSILOCYBIN: Magic Mushroom Grower's Guide and have seen several post here talking about it. Do some research and you might change your mind about it.
