I think you over-estimate the maturity/intelligence of your 'average' twenty-something American/Canadian.
Most people here seem to be late-high-school, early-college types.

OP here. Okay so you guys aren't as young as I thought. I averaged out the guesses so far and came up with a guessed average age of 21.625.
For the second poll, your actual age, the average so far is 21.654.
What we can conclude so far is that the average shroomerite believes he or she is approximately 3 hundredths of a year older than the average shroomerite, or roughly 11 days older.

I'm 30, am self employed, and live more that a thousand miles away from my "mommy". I do well enough to support a family of four so my wife can afford to be a stay at home mom.

this is a crap poll, how the fuck can you figure out an average age when the poll options cover such a broad range...
im 28 so which should i pick? 20-28 or 28-35?
are you assuming mid range for each option? like everyone who selected 20-28 is assumed to be 24?
durrrrrrrrrrr

Yeah I fucked that part up, sorry, I had a little brainfart there. After I thought about it, I thought it would have been better to just make a choice for each exact age from say, 10-50, with less than and greater than on each end. Oh well, too late.
That said, you can come surprisingly close to the true average age by taking the mean for each group and the weighting it. I should have been more scientific about it tho, and gave them evenly spaced age ranges to facilitate computations.

i'd say that the average shroomerite is in the 18-21 range, so the 20-28 option kind of messes it up i guess 
if you posted this poll again with options covering 3 years, then that would give a fairly accurate reflection.
