Jardine was probably in line for a title shot until his loss by KO to Wandy in :36 of the 1st round. There was talk that if Silva didn't start winning fights then he was going to be asked to leave the UFC. You don't want to lose to someone who is on the verge of being asked to leave if they didn't win some fights. If Jardine beat Silva at UFC 84 he most definitely would be the next in line for a title shot. Forrest paid his dues and deserves to wear the belt.

Jardine paid his "dues" far before Forest did.
He beats Lidell, the ufc sets lidell and wanderlei up...wandy loses to the man Jardine already beat, but wait, he has to face him?
Irregardless of the loss to wanderlie, he should be given a title shot.
I can't stand him, but he deserved a shot long ago and far long before forest.
That being said, I'm extremely stoked that Foresst won. He still deserves it. I'd like to see a rematch between him and Jardine.

Fight was so close. The fifth round needs to be 10 or 15 minutes.

Well ain't that strange. He beats Hendo who i felt won the fight, and lost to Griffin.
Now is the horse race to see who will be his first challenger. The three front runners have to be Thiago Silva, Machida, and Wanderlei . All three are coming off big wins, and Thiago, and Machida are unbeaten.
I know i am going to get the Wanderlei Vs Forest chant, but personally i am hoping they match Thiago Vs Machida, winner gets the title shot. Wanderlei will always be one of my favorite fighters, and i hope he gets one more title reign in before he thinks to retire. The man is in my mind is the best LHW fighter this sport has seen. But i am more into seeing Thiago, or Lyoto fight for it first. Wanderlei knocking out maybe one or two more assholes then beating who ever has the title has a better ring to me. Just my personal thought on the matter.
