Ecuadorian + spore print ?

Hey guys/gals Im pretty new to this so bare with me...
Im fruiting some Ecuadorians right now, and I was hoping to be able to get a couple of spore prints. Im on my second flush and they are huge!!! However, they dont seem to be capping out and spreading their veils for me. They just stay in the penis/bulb position as they mature.
Is this just a characteristic of the variety I have, or am I doing something wrong?

Give me a time table of how long you have been fruiting them specifically. You might be picking them premature even though you think you are not.

The first flush I let go for about 6 days. These have been going for 4 now and are probably 3x the size, but still look like they won't break their veils out.

Hit us with some pictures. I need to see the fruits first to be able to tell you for sure. I took a look at your first grow log and those looked a bit premature to me. I would have waited a day or two longer to pick them. If you are trying to get prints you can always leave some of them alone that haven't shed their veil yet and pick around those so you will be sure to get some fruits you can print from for the future.

Just wait, they'll bust veil, and AS SOON AS THEY DO, go ahead and pull them.
They'll start dropping spores most likely within 24 hrs. of the veil breaking, if not earlier.

dude do not pick them yet. 2nd flushes can produce a few massive fruits way bigger than any of your first flush. They will be getting big that's all. Let them grow and get some spores.

If you are trying to print them, then you want to pick them just before, or just as, the veil breaks. This way, you get the full print and less air exposure to the gills = less contaminant exposure to the fruit of the print.
Search for printing techniques. I think there is a good tek by Shirley Knott, and quite a few others which will give you good results, depending on the materials available.

yeah don't pick till the viels has broken if you want prints. if i take a print i pick when the viel has been a ring on the stipe for about 12 hours to let the cap flatten out a bit. For potency you'll see the viel getting stretched upwards when you pick it.

Those two bigger ones w/ the broken veil look good. Make sure you are very sterile though while printing them. You don't want to contaminate your prints.

Yes I was very careful, used sterilized blades and whatnot. I should check back for spores in 12-18 hours?
