 morning glory seeds... what went wrong?

So I thought I had researched these relatively well... apparently I missed something. Haha, there are definitely easier and better ways to experience a trip, but the curiously was too much.
I ordered three packets of heavenly blue seeds online, each contained anywhere from 250-300 seeds (site said 270, the package didnt post the seed count, only the weight - 9g). I soaked one pack in some water overnight, then removed all the husks the following afternoon. About 1hour after eating dinner (around 8:15pm) I mixed the seeds into some yogurt, swallowing each bite without chewing. For 3+ hours all I experienced was a slight body buzz and a very slight stomach ache. Just a general feeling of malaise, no severe pain or anything. At this point I was really disappointed, but I started laughing because somehow I just knew nothing was going to happen. I made myself throw up... and I instantly felt better.
So... anyone know what happened? Possibly taking them one hour after I ate dinner was the problem, or maybe I should have ground them up. Maybe I should have just waited longer...considering my body was still probably digesting dinner. Next time I think Ill remove the husks, then just let them dry out, crush them into a powder then put it in something - and eat on an empty stomach.
But it wasnt all bad. About 2 hours after I threw up, I smoked a bowl. After 2-3 hits I was beyond stoned. After the bowl was gone, I'm positive in saying it was the best weed high I've ever experienced. Slept like a baby too.

Husk/shell. I soaked them in water to soften the shells. I had heard the outer shell is what causes the most nausea/stomach pains. After they where soaked I just squeezed the innards out of each one.

Well I had read shit on erowid and on forums that the LSA was in the inner matter. And I did not chew it because I honestly did not think it made a difference... that everything would digest the same no matter what.

nope.
chewing shit it always key.
Mushrooms for example.
Grind them or chew them, for obvious reasons.
Absorbes alot faster.
Mg seeds are hearty seeds.
If eaten whole "husk" and all, yer just going to be having a really mild "high" and youll be shitting them out almost whole the next day or so.
There is alot of bullshit out there about mg seeds.
Like peyote, or san pedro/other things like seeds.
You dont want the watery inner core of anything in general.
That is just the plants life line.
The outer part is what the life line created over time.
Same goes for HBWR seeds.
The dank is on the outside.
You can just trust me or find that info yourself.
You should try an extract, or just eat the things(IMExperience they dont make the people I know all that sick unless eaten whole and even then its pretty mild).
Funny thing is you soaked the seeds before removing the best part.
props to you for going through the trouble of removing the best part/the only usable part.
trust me, the water you threw away was WAY more potent than the husk you threw away, and the useless core you ate.

Haha well none of this is surprising. I knew I had fucked something up. I still have two packets left. So I guess the next time I will just grind them all up.

ya, grind them up and then just use some method.
There are so many methods.
I just eat them up to the 12 gram mark.
Good luck, and dont just do some shitty 2 hour cold water extraction.
Soak some ground stuff for a long time. 24 hours.
Mash it around a bit when you get the chance.
Then collect the water and drink it.
Mash the remaining seeds to get all the water outif needed.
Call me crazy, but boil down the seed mash for about 7 min in a small amount of water.
Drink that shit too after you drank all the other goodness.
Longer trip.
Those seeds work great if you know how to work with them.
Heaveny blue or pearly gates are prolly what yous be using.
Ya, they are a nice psychedelic.
Get creative.

Where are you getting this information about the ergot alkaloids being contained in the seed husks? I've read a bunch of peer reviewed articles about these seeds without any article even specifying what part of the seed the alkaloids are found in, so I'm curious as to where you found this out?
Usually what I do is to grind the seeds up in a pepper grinder or coffee grinder. Soak the seed flour in vodka + lemon juice. Filter through a coffee filter. Drink.

I just finished filtering the water. Looks like fuckin sewage. Coffee filters didn't really work for me. The water would stop filtering through after a short time. Had to use a small strainer. Planning on mixing it into something, I don't think I could down all of it by itself.
