I bought a new set of bike tools, but I have no idea what a few of these are for. Any ideas?

Well apparently the fillet knife is a "chain whip". I still have no idea what to use it for, but now Im all pissed off that they didnt include my portable fold out frame grill. WTF cheap bastards.

I'll help ya a little moreif I can, what I gather by looking it's a bearing service kit, the splined sockets will go into the hub, the whip is used like a filter wrench to keep it stationary while you back the packing (splined) nut out
of course theres a couple different splined tools so I'd assume either for different sides of the hub or different hubs altogether
things that could really help is an idea of what the bike is, components, and stuff

The kit has allot of other tools, those were just the ones that I wasnt familiar with. Ive worked on pretty much every other part of a bike except the hub so thats most likely what these particular tools are designed for. Im downloading a bicycle repair manual now so that will hopefully grant me a bit more insight, for now though Im assuming that part of a bondage kit was mixed up with my tools.

may god have mercy on your soul...
the tool in the center I'm assuming will be for setting the bearings, or adjusting run out on them or something
it's been 20 years since I've worked on one and the shit was much easier and much less proprietary

Yeah they really should all just pick a standard and go with it, there have to be at least 10 differnt thread sizes for a bottom bracket alone. Some countrys even have there own standard, WTF is the point of that? I hate buying anything that isnt metric.
Here is my new bike. It sure beats my old beat to shit raleigh, but man that thing was a work horse.

carbon forks are nice on a road bike
pretty bike, the drop bars and in flight shifter is essential
maybe wrap some griptape on the bars
and get a pump, tires should be at 110psi they lose air fast at those pressures

better be glad that's only a single speed, they only made it more complicated so it would cost you more, my little huffy only needed a crescent wrench, flat head and an allen set... it got a little more complicated when I got around to road bikes but now these fuckers are doing some retarded shit, is it really that much of a gain from a billet aluminum to titanium?
will you ever go fast enough with pedals to actually warrant disk brakes?
it's a real shame when you have to start calling in this guy to wrench a bike http://sheldonbrown.com/tom-deakins.html

Yeah Sheldon Brown rocks, I was sorry to hear his crazy ass died recently.
I only ride single speeds, its mostly flat around here so there's really no need for all that complication. It seems like they just come out with new gear just so they can raise the price, my steel bike is a hell of allot stronger than any carbon fiber, or aluminum frame, its a much smother ride, and it still only weighs 20 pounds. Unless your racing professionally I just cant see any reason for all that expense.

nor can I, last bike I had was about 15 years ago was on a light little aluminum huffy frame, the whole bike couldnt have weighed more than 11lbs on 26 inch wheels, I had to get rid of it, it didnt look so great after I parked it under a buick
it just wasnt safe to have 2 wheels in atlanta, it's not that the people dont see you, it's that they do

It might just be the weird angle or an illusion but you should check your chain tension, it looks loose.
You use the chain whip with the cassette to remove your rear cog. Are you planning on changing your gear ratio by replacing the rear cog or something? Otherwise you'll probably never use those. What is your ratio right now?
Nice bike though, and yeah are you really riding around with no bar tape? Yous crazy.
I agree on the smoothness of steel, my friends aluminum frame is obviously ridiculously light but it just rides so hard and uncomfortably, doesn't seem worth it.

It has grip tape on it, I just took a picture of it before I wrapped it on. The chain also isnt loose, its perfect. Allot of people do ride with them too tight though a tiny bit of slack is a good thing....just not to much.
My gear ratio is 2.87 with a 170mm, 46 tooth crankset in the front, and a 16 tooth in the back. So far its been perfect for around town so I dont think Ill be changing it.
