Brown Mold
    #8598997 - 07/05/08 10:33 PM (3 months, 3 days ago)

Some brown mold has attacked some of the Myc. Anyway to get rid of it? It is dangerous? Pins appeared after the mold was there.

Looks like bacteria, but it also looks like you just recently sprayed it down with either water or a peroxide mix, so it's kind of hard to say that it wasn't mold that is sprayed down with a water or peroxide mix.  The "wet, sliminess" makes it look like bacteria.

Yea, I should have got a picture before I sprayed with water. I didn’t think about how it would look afterwards. I’ll try to get another picture when it dries a bit.

A little more info about these. These were cakes that had a very small first flush. After the first flush, they were washed and crumbled and then placed in a 50/50 verm/MGMC casing. Casing was nuked for 10min and allowed to cool. I made the mistake of watering the casing too much after placing in the FC and ending up having standing water (I believe this is when the white Myc turned brown and kinda clumped up). I dumped the standing water out and allowed them to dry some. Then pins started forming.

I have no intention of touching this stuff at this time.

Here is a pic from today a little dryer. I’ll try for another tomorrow.

Whatever the case may be, the pins that are comming out look very healthy!  I would continue doing what your doing.  If the casing was waterlogged, I would stop the misting and just cover it with a lid and fan a few times a day till the moisture content of the casing layer comes back to a more normal level.
