I don't think you'll be getting a stamp. I believe it has to be prescribed by a doctor. If you head over to norml.org they have a bunch of info on medical marijuana.
Some doctors will prescribe medical to you for just about anything anxiety/depression/insomnia and other things that you can't truly prove.
In your case you may be able to get a doctor to prescribe you some. The thing is its a treatment the whole industry tries to push.
Without knowing what state your in it would be hard to point you in the right direction. Like i said NORML provides quite a bit of good information.

yeah, ask your doctor how he feels about it. Or do a google search for weed friendly doctors in your state. if you live in a state with Medical MJ there are a lot of message boards to discuss those issues. good luck.

I know a bit about medical records and I'm a patient, so here it goes...
The best way to secure a medical marijuana prescription is to have a medical history of treatment for a specific condition. If your girl has seen any doctors for her troubles, or you have visited one for your pain then you are on the right track. Hopefully, you have health insurance so it doesn't get too expensive, but either you or your girl can go to a doctor let them know of your troubles and that over the counter medications haven't been effective in treatment. When talking to your doctor it's good to use key words like "shooting" "radiating" or "aching" as those get written right into the chart notes. You might also want to describe your pain in fluctuations from 1-10 on a pain scale depending on activity. It is good to have a significant event that aggravated and increased your pain causing your increased troubles.
Your primary care physician or chiropractor might prescribe X-rays, but pain can be the culprit of a soft tissue injury if the X-rays don't show anything. Therefore, search "google" for soft tissue injuries in the designated area to see the symptoms. You need to formulate a diagnosis, actual or otherwise, for yourself in order to secure a condition. Talk to your primary care doctor about the possibility of seeing a chiropractor or do acupuncture. This allows them to see your interest in alternative medicine and treatments.
When discussing medications with any doctor always, always bring up side-effects of the medications and your concerns. Long-term liver damage is very common for pain meds, so let them know. Also, if you are prescribed pain medications, letting your doctor know that the medications cause you constipation can help in showing your discontent with your current treatment plan.
It might takes six months or less, but it's necessary to secure a long-term card, not one that won't be renewed a year later. The most important thing about everything I've stated is that you must, MUST keep your medical records straight. Your story has to be the same every time, with the same diagnosis and complaint. And I'm talking for a lifetime. If you get into a car accident 4 years from now and have a more serious problem, you better remember every detail used to obtain your card. Write it down and make copies if you have to.
Oh, you can also request your medical records wherever you go at any time, so it's good to have copies to see what the doctor is writing in them about your complaints.
After all of that, look for marijuana friendly doctors or cannabis clinics in your area. NORML can usually point you in the right direction. If you feel you have a solid diagnosis you can talk to your primary doctor about it, just be careful to be perceived as fishing for it. Either way, all of your medical records will need to be forwarded to the pot doctor for them to review and check off, and then give you your medical marijuana card.
Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions.
- Peace

yeah you have to cruise onto norml's website and see which doctor will give you the rec. You also will have to show documentation from another doctor about the condition for which you wish to use herb for.

It's just that he twice called it a subscription rather than a prescription. I dunno, I found it to be humorous.

does anyone know if it'll help if you tell your doctor that you already smoke marijuana and that it helps you with whatever problem you have?

From what I've heard there are plenty of "green friendly" doctors that basically pass out the cards, you just have to find one. There's a whole site/ message board dedicated to it.

You'd think they'd give it out like candy. All these pills for this and that, weed is safe and natural, and no known LD50.

I've heard there is a doctor in Haiku who will issue your lady a card for her womanly pains. He'd probably even do the same for your bad back.
There is a medical dispensary in the town of Paia. They have a great selection of sativas & indicas, hashish, and sometimes they offer clones.

i dont mean to rain on your parade, but from my personal experiance pot makes back pain worse. doctors say the best back pain remedy is gentle excersise/painkillers. Most often back pain is caused by injury's from being out of shape, and/or overuse. so what i'm trying to say is; smoking pot wil probly only put more stress on your body and make it harder to get in shape. personally, when i smoke pot i get muscle weakness/relaxation that lasts a couple days, which in turn makes my sore back/posture/energy level worse.
maybe its just me
edit: i'd just like to add that people falsely getting pot percriptions doesnt look good for it's image as a possible actual medicinal herb.
