actually it's easier and safer to shoot it that way, I can one hand a 12 gauge with a short barrel shooting from the hip, your arm takes the recoil like a shock absorber, the barret is just too big to one hand
interesting, with a weapon that shoots such a heavy load, you would think firing from the hip would knock your ass to the ground. I fired a DE .50 cal once and it left my hand numb for 20 mins lol
You ever heard of a Smith & Wesson 500 mag? The most powerfull production handgun every made. Man, the first time I saw one I almost shat my pants. It is that big. The cylinder is about as big around as a coke can.
Check it out. Notice, unde the pic it says "the gun is bigger than this" and scroll down to the bottom to see the size of the bullet compared to a 44 or 454 casul.

About the 500 mag. I know a 300lb guy who manhandles guns like they are toys. He shot a 500 Mag with a 4" barrel and said he would never shoot one again.
I've also heard that the percussion from it is almost stunning. If you aren't expecting it you will be in shock.
Some of the bullets are 500+ grains.
A standard .45 is 230. Geeeeeeee

of course she also shot one husband and sliced another one

Well, that's just me honestly. You should decide if you want to shoot it or not, im sure putting a few shells through it won't really damage it if it can be fired.
I just come from a family of gun collectors/restorers, with a piece thats over a 100 years old it would end up in a locker instead of out on a range. But i think that was mainly due to the fact that we wanted to resell the piece once it had been restored. My grandfather literally found a civl war musket lying a ditch one day, restored it, and it remained the only piece he never wanted to sell.

I read somewhere that the 500 mag produce 70,000 psi in the barrel. That is a sick gun. I would like to shoot one, but I would make sure I had double-hearing protection, safetly glasses, a face mask, and glove.
Not to many guns scare me, but I bet my palms would be sweaty as hell shooting that gun. I was actually thinking of buying one when they first came out. I bought a Sig 229 Equinox instead. That is a sweet gun. It is also a favorite of the FBI, DEA, and BATF.
Theres are not the Equinox version. Same gun but the Equinox is pimped out. Parts of the slide are polished, rear Trijon night sights. The front sight is TruGlo Tritium/Fiberoptics.
I let my wife shoot the gun and she even liked it. That was the only gun she could hit the target with. LOL

I caught this off the link you posted
The super pressure cartridge (above) designed to do this, produced 90,000 psi !! and the cylinder only deformed and bulged out slightly in the test. This proves how safe the gun is to fire.

my wife called my moms house 3 times while I was visiting (just before we got married) and told her it was urgent that I call, as soon as I got there I called home and she was trying to convince me nothing was wrong and we could talk about it when i got back, I got home and the bathroom mirror was all over the floor, she took my .45 out and was fucking around with it
she swore she only took it out of the drawer and set it down, never took it out of the holster, of course she never touched any of my guns ever again and swore I didnt need to keep them in the house... I was like "where then, the car?"

Man, I think my wife will probably shoot me one day. She's red-headed and bi-polar. I'm telling you, she gets absolutely crazy if I piss her off. I keep most of my guns at a family member's pawnshop. I don't think she would be able to hit me with any of the pistols, maybe the Sig. I should have never shown her how to shoot guns....
I have a damned good reason not to cheat on my wife. I'm pretty sure she would kill me if she found out, LOL.
