so this is a 5 lb growbag with spawn and bulk substrate included. Was inoculated using an approximately 1 year old b+ syringe, which had been exposed to some fairly hot temps. Took a very long time (several weeks) for myc to appear but now it is spreading fairly quickly:
my friend was thinking about doing a casing for their first time, instead of fruiting in the bag. Im sure it would increase the yield a lot if done properly.

ummm.. yeaaahhhh.. case that shit.. let it get half way done, then break it apart and mix it up.. it will make it go alot faster... and the casing will give you more surface area on which to grow your mushies, along with the proper environmental variables that make them prosper...
like you said, though.. only if done right..

Might just be my whiskey goggles on, but that looks a bit Grey to me. That sharpness of the pictures make it hard for me to tell though. If I am wrong, and I hope I am. Best of luck to you!

Looks good to my untrained eyes. I noticed a "greyish" color in a couple of my jars. I think its just new mycelium? It appears to have gone white now, maybe even more rhizo then some of the other myc. Anyone with more exp. wanna confirm this?

DJ it's not contam'd from what i see. Honestly though, i'd case that, and right now,i'd crumble it around to hasten colonization... but, that's just me.

You could case it in the bag. Just cut off the top and leave an inch or two, and case it. You might need to cover the sides though. I've been seeing more and more people fruit this way as of late.

PE only? I would like to know why, i've fruited a few dozen strains Invitro.. the best being in order, Oak Ridge, texas, F+, Hawaiian, Palenque, and Tasmanian.
But, I am about to start pe, invitro, so im curious why you say that...
and your ideas on casing an invitro bag sound interesting, only i don't think i'd cut the top of the bag off, just add a casing layer, blackout the sides, and close it back up.

Some swear that PE fruits very well in bags. Something about them likeing the high CO2 content. I've seen people cut the bags off and case them with great results. That's just my personal preference.
Keep in mind. I took 2 Klonopins and drank a 6 pack, so I'm pretty will buzzed right now.
