Bad Sleep

Thanks everyone. Problem is pretty much fixed. I sleep as perfect as possible with Brilliant Dreams. I would recommend it to anyone.

A walk is hardly exercise. Get a bike, ride a few miles a day. Do some stretches before and after sleeping. Getting yourself in better shape will help you sleep much better. Exercise is key to good sleep.

There have been some reports of weed messing with sleep patterns. Ease off a little.

trashion is right. Get a bike (jog even) and bike for a while. I think you need to help tire yourself out. Say you eat a lot, but then go back and work on the computer, you'll need to help get rid of some of the energy that comes along with eating.

I find I sleep better/easier when I'm eating well, working out and exercising plenty.

I only recommended biking over jogging because it's easier on the joints :smile:

um, okay, so I've had some problems with insomnia before, and I agree that exercising is a good idea.  i try to go to the gym, or go hiking.  I think "professionals" suggest like at least 45 minutes 3 times a week?  At any rate, working out during the day might help tire you out.  BUT I wouldnt suggest exercising an hour or two before you try to go to bed.  Bed time should be wind down time.

Also, do you drink a lot of caffeine?  tea? diet sodas?  If so, cut that stuff out.  I personally try to avoid caffeine after 4 pm.

another question, do you have a regular sleep and wake up time? If I'm off my schedule i find it hard to sleep, whereas if I go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning, I can sleep through the night no problem.

Another thing to note, is are you sensitive to noise or light? Personally I wake when the sun hits my face.  You might be interested in ear plugs or that blessed eye mask.

just some suggestions.  I'm no doctor!  :smile:

oh right, and doctors have suggested meditation to me.  I'm not sure how that works.  Something about circular breathing.  You might want to look into that as well.

I am in a bit of a different situation. My trouble is falling asleep ... once I am asleep I am out.

I did go through a stage a couple of years ago where I just couldn't stay asleep. Maybe you could buy another pillow, try another sleeping area, or put on some music.

Also, try wearing ear plugs or a sleeping mask over your eyes.  :goodluck:

It can depend on why one is having probs sleeping or getting to sleep. Some people will be tired physically but have probs with their minds being too busy while laying there. Some people have probs with low melatonin levels , others are distracted by ambient conditions/sound without realizing it .

A loud box fan or a white noise machine (I use both together) can be very helpful in both blocking unwanted noise and providing a hypnotic relaxing sound to slumber to. I use the Marpac 980A Sleep Mate as a white noise machine (available on ebay) and it works great though just a plain ole 8 dollar loud box fan works almost as well for much less cost .

As already mentioned by others working out also helps *alot* . Kettlebell lifting always helps me sleep and makes me feel more peaceful and less restless at the end of the day. If I get lazy and go a week or more without lifting or working out I get RLS (restless leg syndrome) while trying to sleep.

For a natural supplement if you can afford it Brilliant Dreams is a great little pill . It's completely natural and legal and makes you have more vivid dreams, improves dream recall and does a great job and making you feel sleepy and helping you to stay asleep once you drift off. Do a google search for brilliant dreams and it should be the first result you get. A much cheaper alternative would be to buy some melatonin available over the counter at most any pharmacy and in many grocery stores .

Having sex and/or masturbating right before bed time can also be helpful in getting to sleep.

This is a no brainer but a crappy pillow and/or crappy matress or a matress that is too firm or soft for you can alse cause probs.
