Actually the racer didn't bite at all. It did a whole lot of tail rattling and jesus christ it was fast. It was the only snake that I had to work up a sweat to catch. We were in 4-5 foot tall weeds.
I was surprised though because racers are usually mean as hell.
Here's what happened when I caught a 5-6 footer:
Nasty mofos, and quick too.

yep  black racers have always had a shit attitude with me. was that the only ringneck? usually when i find one there's like 10 around
