mixing soil and manure

need a little advice on the best way to do this.
say i have 10-20 sq ft of cleared and flattened land. maybe less cuz its not square at all. and a truck load of manure(hpoo)
i want to mix the manure in. possibly as deep as i can.(i just assume the deeper the better) and all i have is hand tools such as a shovel and a pick axe.
is there any specific way to churn this manure into the soil other than grunt work? what do you do when mixing compost or manure???

rent a roto-tiller, its totally worth it. i just turned a 8/8 square of land from lawn to garden with just a shovel and axe and it was one of the most hellish experiences of my life. especially if you have alot of clay, or roots/rocks in the soil. It isnt even totally mixed in and now just looks like a shitty lawn. if mixing i would put what you want to mix into the soil ontop of it and churn it all in, but if you can, seriously. get a roto-tiller
they also sell substrate at some garden stores/home depots that dissolve clay or break it up or something. this may be beneficial if you end up doing the grunt work.

hahahaha, i live on a volcano, its 50/50 soil/rocks
very very large rocks.
i wanted someone to tell me to rent a tiller, but i dont knon how to use them. and what about my rocks?
btw. i have AMAZING soil, just a lot of rocks. the rate of decomposition of foliage here on the mountain is outstanding, so i have rich healthy soil

de-rock the plot as much as possible. maybe go over the wohle thing with a sledgehammer to make the big rocks smaller. then go over it all with the tiller after putting whatever you want to mix in over the plot, you just pull the cord thing on the tiller, press it into the ground and push forward, go over a few times until your feet start sinking in, it really air-ates the soil, it sounds like just going through and getting rid of the big rocks may make your job alot easier
