the word 'neocube'' to me suggests these are Neodymium magnets;
if they are really low grade magnets(they don't look insanely strong) you could probably make one for about the price he is charging.

Breaking News!
Neocube in the mail today. Order date was April 27th.
It definitely works as demonstrated, although it is trickier than it looks to master using this thing. As for people worried that he used stronger magnets in the video. I don't think so. All in all, it was a great purchase and worth the wait. I don't know about these jacked up prices though.
This will keep me busy way more than the ~$40 I payed would have otherwise. Good buy.

Another thing.
When you get your package, it gives you an address to type in to get extra videos and tutorials on how to make things with the Neocube.
Neocube Instructions
It was very helpful to me, and if your interested in buying one, check out the link.

'By creating an electromagnetic field using electricity and then taking a ferromagnetic material and placing it in that field, the material will pick up some of the magnetism. And for more effect, create a bigger field. Plus, if the material to be magnetized is heated really hot (above its Curie point, TC) and then put in the field and then allowed to cool while in the field, it will really pick up the magnetism! This is how commercial permanent magnets are usually made.'
From http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_magnetize_metal
Hope it helps! (I was kind of interested in this myself, being a really poor science student)

That's cool and all, but not how these are made. They are Neodymium magnets. There's no way you could create a sufficient magnetic field from the above procedure.
