down the block on some wood chips?
    #8596788 - 07/05/08 08:56 AM (3 months, 1 day ago)

Thease were recently found growing out of some wood chips down the block from my home. It seems to be two different species in the same patch? The larger one had a wide cap and a short fat stem, yellowish gills and the print is still in the process. The smaller ones also had yellowish gills a stem about 1/4 to 3/8 thick with no vail and white where it attaches to the cap. They also seem to have a blueish green tint to them..check out the pics, I finally invested in a camera and stopped using my phone, so detail will be better seen. Dose anyone have any ideas on species? any help would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks,
Green

Gymnopilus luteofolius would be my guess. Orange spore print?

I did a search for Gymnopilus luteofolius and the pics i saw were much like thease that i took just now with the hints of green and looks to me like a purple..well i dunno tell me what you think of thease new pics....the camera was a great investment!

So I went back and got what I left. This is what I came back with...After checking the prints they are indeed orange! I really hope that they are Gymnopilus luteofolius, so far thats what they are leaning to for an i.d...

If any one has another i.d. please feel free to share..

Thanks,
Green

Gymnopilus luteofolius for sure.  I think they are all the same species, check the scales on the cap.

That cap is massive. I'm not sure on the dosage amount though, I've been told they are quite weak. I'm sure some of the others will know.

I wouldn't eat that monster until your clear on the dosage, wouldn't want to waste anything. The dosage calculator here is saying that 2.5 to 4.5 grams would be good for a level 2 to 4 trip respectively. This is under the assumption that your gym is equal in potency to gym. purpatus. I would say 2.5 to 3 grams, more if your experienced and want to. Wait for someone to confirm this though.

I would just split what you have left with one other person, it has been said that gyms lose a good bit of potency from drying i dont know if this is true but i would dose big just in case.
