 so i chainsawed my leg

basically i was working in my friends farmlands, cutting down undergrowth with my trusty chainsaw, it was my second day. he picked me up, drove me to his place, i got a good few hours in when i tried to push a branch away with the saw still running (i'd let go of the throttle but it was still running) when the branch got stuck and the chainsaw jerked away into my knee, ripping through my work pants.
i checked my knee and it was spurting blood, soaking my sneakers. i put the saw down, called my buddy, walked a few hundred meters through the fuckin bush and he picked me up on his atv. walking into the house i felt more blood soaking the pants i started to hear the sea, i sat down in the kitchen and as they were checking the wound i blacked out for a second, they put me on the couch, tied the wound with some first aid and my buddy drove me to the hospital.
luckily i didn't hit the bone because the saw wasn't full throttle, got five stitches and some skin cut off, the wound was about 3cm wide and looked like a little girls mouth that had cherry red lipstick on it, i'll never forget that.
so i gotta go show the wound in 10 days, other than that they told me to take it easy and that's that.

lol...get some saw chaps or swipe some armour from one or them castles over in your neighborhood
I have a friend that always pins the guard on his circular saw,
that way it never interferes with his cut, 2 problems with doing
that, if you set it on the floor it starts skating and fucking
shit up, if you do like he did and set it on your leg
well the same results but you also have a mess to explain to the
home owner

When I'm in pretty bad pain I try not to smoke. The "waves" of pain pulsing through a cut like that would ruin the high for me and give me a shitty feeling, but then again some people use weed to help dull pain. It couldn't hurt.

getting high has never really helped my pain, like when I had back surgery, sometimes seemed to make it worse. Though, it did help me sleep at the end of the evening, after having tons of painkillers in me. Did they give you any medication for pain?

it doesn't hurt that much, considering. they used local anesthetic while stitching me up, the same sort you might get at the dentist. its like a slight burn from a hot stove or something, not bad really. no meds, i'm gonna tough it out.
and i'd be glad to take pics at the doctors office when they check how its healed. rad!

I sliced my finger real bad yesterday cleaning dishes. I have a 3/4inch cut on my index finger and somehow managed to put a slice in the middle finger as well. The area around the cut is numb and the cut itself stings like a sonnabitch. I think I cut some nerves, but I don't have the nerve to go to the doctors to find out that yeah, it's a cut.

My uncle did the same thing. He is an alchoholic and drinks all day. One day he was cutting down some trees, and somehow laid the chainsaw on his leg while it was still going. Got him pretty good.
Not to long ago we were fishing. He gets a trebble hook stuck deep in his thumb. I told him we needed to go get it cut out. He insisted on pushing it through so he could cut the barb of. I told him he was going to have hell pushing the damned thing through the bottom of his thumb and out his thumbnail. Stupid arse set there for about a half an hour screaming and pushing before he said "Ok, let's go to the doctor."
Then, he said he pricked his pear while going to the bathroom. I don't know if he was BSing or not. Some people are just a lil dumber than others I guess. LOL

i had a friend do the same thing as well. I don't know the specifics of the story, and knowing him drugs were certainly involved, but he was cutting something and the blade slipped and went up his leg. He was left pretty fucked up for a bit.
