Don juan said it great in one of the book (Even if he aint a real person). But he talks about how Carlos felt so Justified in getting angry with others and how he was full of shit.
The same is with you. Your placing yourself so high above others when your forgetting that you yourself were JUST like them at one point in your life.....its sad but its true.

You should youtube Plato's work on "The Cave" I think is what it was called. He basically talks about how people are idiots and are getting fooled with illusions. Then some people escape and realize all the beauty in the world and how silly it was that they are playing a rat race.
However he claims that its the personal duty of the enlightened mind to journey back to the cave and help others even if they dont give a shit.
I believe that the world will set you up with people who need you to help them.

There are an infinite amount of ways to handle your "self" around other people that will allow you to get along with them. Isolating yourself for awhile might give you time to sort things out.
Personally, I'm going through the same sort of dilemma. Let's just say its a tough one.

Alcohol is no doubt a means of losing inhibition. I've heard it called a social lubricant. Maybe, if "channeled" correctly, alcohol would allow you to say the things in certain situations that you always think of afterward. You never know.
Read Siddhartha by Herman Hesse. It is a fictional account of the life of Buddha. There are lots of interesting things in it that pertain not only to ego death but also to discovering how to deal with the "self" that you cannot escape. bluntdreams, I know exactly how you feel. I don't like to use derogatory words to describe people, but my parents what you'd call sheep. They get their information from Fox News, they eat all kind of processed and fast food (which is why they are so unhealthy), and they are so angry about everything and dismiss anything I have to say about.. pretty much anything because I'm not in a white coat or a business suit.
I try not to let it get to me, but it does. I hate seeing people lead such miserable lives. But there is one thing that you and I have to remember.. it has nothing to do with us. It's THEIR decision to live that way and you can only be there for them when they ask you what they should do. And when they do ask, be honest. DO NOT tell them what they want to hear, there are plenty of people that do so. Tell them how you really feel.
You say you have left you ego behind, but you really haven't. The ego is the one that gets angry when others live the way you don't want them to. It's what makes the religious think they are better than everyone else and that anyone that isn't of his/her religion is a sinner. It's what makes a person of one gender believe that the other gender is a lesser species. When you fully push your ego aside, the actions of others won't affect you. It won't happen overnight, that's for sure. It's still my #1 problem.
