passionflower is actually a hallucinogen.
Really now?? How extreme is extreme and any idea of how much is safe to consume? I read that it was a MAOI...and I'm still trying to figure out the MAOI deal, IE what not to eat /drink and how long to wait before eating etc etc...
only people who ever take enough to witness hallucinations are shamans and at that high of a dose it usually involves nausea and spasms, not worth it if you ask me
Very true, Although between threshold and nauseating doses there are many pleasurable levels.
ALso isnt that the case with most shamanic entheogens ie; LSA containing seeds, Mesc cacti, Amanitas, ayahuasca?
It would seem as tough you have to buy the ticket before you can take the ride so to speak;)

So I tried smoking some chamomile a couple nights ago...
And honestly it really was pretty relaxing, but you have to smoke so much of it and it tastes sort of funny. I mean compared to something like cannabis, where if it's potent enough usually just a few hits and I'm fine. And weed is pretty delicious.
I didn't have anything fresh so I just picked a tea bag out of my cupboards and emptied it out, wet it up a bit so the smoke wouldn't be as harsh, and packed it all into my pipe. It was kind of like a bowl brimming with shake, but yeah.
The mood lift was very subtle, but it was still there nonetheless. I'm usually pretty skeptical about subtle differences like that though because I can't really discern whether or not it's just a placebo effect.
I was having some pretty strange thoughts that I wouldn't normally have, though. I kept thinking these weird flying things were knocking at my second-story window, and that my cats were under my piano bench just a few feet from my desk. My door was shut though and no cats were in here, ehhh
I noticed about twenty minutes later that everything looked especially detailed, sort of like how on lower doses of shrooms everything's brighter and has so much clarity and such. I figured that might've just been an interesting placebo effect though from all my previous mushie trips. In fact I'm pretty sure the majority of the experience was just a side-effect of my brain being especially relaxed.
I think if I ever try it again I'll have to get it fresh and I'll probably smoke more than just one bowl of it.

Haha, it's a pretty chill thing (smoking chamomile). Def. Wouldnt have put it up against smokin cannabis but none the less its pretty nice. I was thinking about sprinkling a little of the passion flower extract on top of the chamomile and giving it a puff....think anything would come of it?
