I love my old film cameras, but I don't use them anymore. Digital has spoiled me.
I have a couple Canon AE-1 cameras and an old Olympus OM-1. The Olympus is a fully mechanical model. I bought it for astrophotography. I can lock open the shutter and take exposures as long as I want. Getting an exposure of several hours at a dark-sky site produces some great star trail effects.

Zenit was made in the Lomo factories in Belarus, the old ones were not well known for reliability, if you have any problems after the first roll, try getting a refund, swap or upgrade, you'll be hard pressed to find someone to service them, other than that they take great pics
next time you're shopping for a camera, look into medium format models like the old bronicas, rolleiflex or hasselblad, you'll be much more pleased with them and the picture quality

i bought it for 15$ from a local store, it was used and came without a guarantee. works so fine so far, got my first full roll of film done today, i'm going to let it get developed on a cd so its heaps cheaper.
those other cams you mentioned are imports around here and pretty rare.

I forgot you're not in the US, regardless, $15 for an SLR is a good price, the Zenits can fetch a few hundred in the US, keep your eyes peeled for a Moskva or a Lubitel, both good for medium format starters and they go pretty cheap

I've always wished I had the money and time to get into medium format. Possibly even some large format If I could. I'd even have a darkroom if I had it may way. Unfortunately, I don't have the resources for such a hobby.
