hypocrites, they could have freed their slaves and given them the
option to stay on as hired hands, then they earn a buck, have a
place to live and the founders have cheap labor... hypocrisies and
greed carry more weight in a fledgling nation than honor and truth

Sounds like some good ol' fashioned spin to me  lol it almost sounds like rationalizing slavery.
It reminds me of musicians and celebrity in general *cough Bono cough* who go around telling people to save the planet and the world. Yet through there presence consume more and contribute more to indirect suffering than most normal people could ever.

You could always read the statement more noarrowly as "living in peace" as opposed to being marginalized, conquered, and exterminated. You don't have to assume that living in peace implies that they had acheived some sort of Utopian society.

More of a attempt to defend the founding fathers because i really love their ideas but it truly is hypocritical to have slaves.their views where even progressive for their time atleast with Thomas Jefferson. Everyone is a product of their time . Even the almighty Ghandi was a racist.
