I saw a few threads on this but can someone give me input on this. Surprisingly a lot of people claim its actually worth the money and I'm thinking of trying since the head shop as a bit...

Yes it actually works and while expensive is worth it if for some reason you can't or don't want to smoke weed. Spice Diamond is out now and is a lot better imo for just a little more cash. The spice blends arent the only legal herbal smoking blends out there so if you decide to try spice try out some other similiarly priced blends from whatever vendor you choose.

How similar is the high to that of pot? I've read a lot of peoples claims that it is pretty close. I might have to try some out pretty soon.

I just smoked two bong sliders of Spice Diamond. Oh it's worth it. The high is very similar, though not spot on imo.

Theres mixed reports, I wouldn't trust it unless I knew what was in it. Especially when its as easy and cheaper to get real MJ.
I asked a good stoner friend who had tried this and he said he thought it was just salvia and some other random plants mixed up.

Doesn't remind me at all of salvia, but yeah I'm never trying that shit again until I know what's in it. It works but the ingredients are a mystery and the shit tastes like burnt popcorn. Not to mention it's just as expensive as bud anyway.

well, it lasts like 3 or 4 hours when i do it, so definitely not salvia. The best prediction I have seen is it possibly has some extracted tropane like alkaloids in it. Reading the ingredients list doesn't give any hint of where the effects are coming from. I had two bags of gold a year or two ago, works great. Its been a while since I had it and I'm still ok, though who knows what happens if you smoke it daily for a year or three.

HERE you go,
Baybean - Canavalia maritima: Smoked on the Gulf Coast of Mexico as Marijuana substitute. Seeds have been found in royal grave sites in the Yucatan and Peru dating from 300 B.C. to A.D. 900.
Blue Lotus - Nymphaea caerulea & Nymphaea alba: Worshipped by ancient Egyptians as a symbol for the origins of life. The flowers were known for their visionary and inebriating effects. White Lotus was successfully used as an anesthetic in WWI when the more traditional opiate anesthetic wasn't available.
Dwarf scullcap - Scuttelaria nana: Scullcap is well-known among the Cherokee and other Native American tribes as a sedative and excellent treatment for anxiety and insomnia. It has been known to cause giddiness when large amounts are ingested.
Indian Warrior - Pedicularis densiflora: At least one Native American tribe is known to smoke the flowers of certain Pedicularis species for their narcotic effects. Pedicularis densiflora is one of the most rare and potent species of Pedicularis. It has been used for many years as an aphrodisiac, muscle relaxer and strong sedative. More potent than any other herb of its kind.
Lion's Tail - Leonotis leonurus: Used by the Xhosa and Hottentot tribes of South Africa for inebriant and euphoric effects.
Maconha Brava - Zornia latifolia: Dried leaves smoked by Indians in Brazil as a visionary aide. The vernacular name Maconha Brava means "false Marijuana".
Pink Lotus - Nelumbo nucifera: Possesses great significance in Eastern religion. Indians believe that Brahma, creator and God of the universe, sprang from a lotus blossom. Pink Lotus was often smoked or made into a tea to create a mystical feeling of joy that permeated the mind and body.
Siberian Motherwort - Leonurus sibiricus: Used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years under the name Yi Mu Cao. Also commonly used in Brazil and Chiapas as a substitute for another popular smoking herb giving it the nickname "Little Marijuana".
SPICE gold does not contain tropane alkaloids
It is a mixture of the active alkaloids of the above, extracted and mixed with the dry material to produce concentrated effects.

How do you know that's the right formula? As far as I know anything the internet says is just speculation at this point.

Thats the ingredients list from the manufacturer.
Also I have been using several of the above for a few years now. I recognize the feeling and I would have to say the effects are dominated by the Leonotis leonurus.
I would say this is where the bulk effects come from as i have been smoking this extract for a while and it in itself is not all that far off mj.
Very trance like and euphoric
But, each to their own. I was only trying to dispel some of the miths about it. IMHO it is very safe

ive smoke Lions Tail alone, and also drank it in tea, it didn't give any affects, if so, it was BARELy noticeable. I know the ingredients, as they are listed on the back of the package, I am just saying, i don't trust that list to give the effect it does, as I have tried most if not all of those plants.

I just went to the head shop and bought some Bahli bubble bud. Harshist shit I've ever smoked.
What can I say? I was desperate. My dealer is a shady fuck and I don't know anyone else.

This stuff does get me high. It is similar to pot, but not nearly as intense. It's more like the effects of pot about and hour after you smoke it. It hurts like hell though to take a hit.

I'd rather buy 24 good beers for the same price. Way more fun.

Spice definately doesn't contain salvia as salvia is illegal in several states including the state where the biggest spice retailer in the US runs his business. I do believe the ingredient list is correct, due to the fact that there are lots of herbal blends coming out with nearly identical ingredient lists that have very similar effects to the spice products. Now I wouldn't recommend daily smoking of these products, but for potheads who are on probation or just can't fail a work related drug test this stuff this stuff is the best replacement out there.
