I put them on hold until I get the cooler hooked up again. I buried the blocks in the garden. It's just too hot here. I will be getting the cooler up and running in a few weeks. I Have spawn made up.
I was thinking of fruiting them on paper pulp and straw mixed with blood meal this time around. I know I can get them to fruit. It's just a matter of making the right conditions and its difficult at the moment, so I figure I better wait until everything is nice and cool. Since the move I haven't been in the mood to start fiddling with hooking the cooler into the chambers and since gas is killing me I have to plan the utilities into the budget if you know what I mean.
Workman has been giving me some advice on using my microscope and I have been really excited about playing with my new microscope. So much I find myself not wanting to sleep. Its so addictive! It also is taking up a lot of my time. But hey! It's saving me money by not doing anything else.
Also there is a new candidate. Caricapapaya cloned a new one before it started getting too hot around here. It seems very agressive on agar too. It looks promising. I will be attempting it as well.

How big will these suckers get before they stop growing? They're starting to get pretty big.

They are in a martha style chamber fed by a fan and ultrasonic humidifier. The fan sits by the window to help with FAE. I mist the reishi and clean the fans inside the tents every day because there are "SO MANY FREAKING SPORES, HOLY CRAP". I even take the tents outside once a week to spray them down with bleach and rinse. I won't be surprised if reishi start growing all over the place next year.

Oh man, they look awesome. Sweet grow!

Here is an update on a block, same strain, same substrate, same inoc date, grown in bag, with bag closed.
Its only been opened up for photo ops and gazing in admiration.
the antlers seem to grow way more slowly than the conks.
anyone else have the same experience?

Wow!
Thanks. Thats so cool. At least you won't be cleaning up caked up spores all over the place. I had to wash off the interior fans every 12 hours to rid them of spore deposits.

I thought a lot of the medicinal value was in the spores, do you loose out if you go with antlers?
