What if I initiate my casing too early to fruiting conditions?

I'm trying my luck at my 2nd casing. The first one gave me a good 1st flush and that was basically it. so now I'm trying another one. If I'm not mistaken, I want to see about 20% mycelium on my casing before I introduce it to the fruiting conditions but what would happen if I introduce it too early. I'm asking because I am going to leave town for a few days and the tray is only about 10% to 15% colonized and I don't want it come home to a tray of overlay but I also don't want to hurt my pin set if I introduce it too early. Thanks

But my choices are possible overlay or early introduction. I've pasteurize my casing of MGMC and added hydrated lime so I'm not as concerned about contamination, what I'm concerned with is will early introduction negatively affect my 1st pin set and if so how bad will it be effected.

With me I always iniate to fruiting conditions right after casing, But I don't add a thick layer either. I don't believe it is a huge deal. some will say it is some will agree. I think you should be cool. Sorry for not answering correctly the first time.

I have a thin casing layer so I think I'll do what you said and initiate early. Thanks
