 Independence Day!!!!

I made this post because I know for a fact that there are US citizens that only know this holiday as, the 4th of July, a time to get messed up and watch fireworks. I feel like calling this holiday the "4th of July" takes away from the fact that it is the day we declared independence from Great Britain in 1776.
So all I ask of everybody is to know what you are celebrating, fly your flags high, and be proud of your country if you are celebrating (otherwise youre a hypocrite)

Hi. I just skimmed over the original post. it seemed like a semi serious rant about the gov...
but I just wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy 4th, and didn't want to make another 4TH OF JULY LOLz post.
Uhm, I was going to do some 2c-e, but I just found out my parents are taking us out on the boat.... like the original plan was just to hang with my cousins... but yeah, I can't trip like that with my parents around.
I'm contemplating on whether or not I should even bring my bowl. Like I told one of my cousins I would.... but the cops are out thick and since I have some Indian (as in Native American) blood, I get my car tag cheap.... and I have to use my parent's address b/c I live outside the Cherokee borders or whatever.... so my tag is out of date, but my sticker is at my parent's so I hope I can make the hour drive from here to there without getting pulled over.
anyway, happy fourth! Wear sunscreen!

Do remember that the founding fathers (Washington Jefferson etc) were slave owners who wanted to be free, that I think is the biggest hypocrisy.
EDIT: Though don't get me wrong, the United States has obviously gone under a great many changes since that time and has flourished into one of the most powerful economies in the history of the world. So there is a ton of hard work and prosperity to be proud of, but don't get cocky.

You are taking what i said wrong. All I was getting at in my OP is that some people celebrate the 4th and have no idea why its a holiday. Its commonly called the 4th of July rather than Independence Day, so there are people who seriously have no clue. The hypocrite part is about people who live in the US, take all advantages, and enjoy living here yet have not a positive thing to say about when asked. If quality of life would be so much better some where else hop your happy ass on a flight and go there.

the 6 million I was referring to were not really a part of US
independance, in fact they're 'sovereign', not citizens of the
US, they were the original inhabitants, the tried, they signed
treaties and tried to live in peace, then they were murdered

The founding fathers where aware of the wrongs of slavery. But they where aware that doing something about it would have destroyed country they had just created. As for why they personally had slaves im not sure. Maybe there was no other way to get labor or maybe they where hypocrites. I would like to know which one.

I'm changing the name of Independence day to patriot act day, no more fireworks on patriot act day, because the feds say so, you must stay in your home and write pro-republican essays on patriot act day or else be labelled an enemy combatant!!!!.
