I do believe it is getting better every year that i am here and i believe what you are doing is good for the new and older members. Its also very cool to see an orginazation that gives drugs and psychotropic plants the respect they deserve. keep it up!!!!!

That kind of looks like the T. Peruvianus v Tarmansis. I have a couple of those rooting myself. The Tarmansis is up front in the back is T Peruvianus v Ancash.

You'll probably need to cut that in half before rooting it unless you have a pretty good support system to keep it from falling over.

A support system? You should plant it on a vase large and deep enough for it to support itself...
BTW you should think of getting some lights for this plant, otherwise it may etiolate.
Congrats!

When I mentioned support system I meant while rooting. These tall cutting have a bad habit of knocking over easily.

After getting more information I believe these are the ones going around as the KK242 specimens that are not really active. Especially if you got yours where i think you did. My specimens were given to me but the people I have talked to that have tested them have had negative results in the mesc dept. But they are supposed to be the ones possibly hybridized with Cuzco.
The place ethno place that sells these specimens also sell seeds of them and when i asked what type of Peruvian Torch seeds they were they told me they were KK242. I have some starting from seed as well as other Peruvianus variations.

I agree with you there. I'm rooting 3 or 4 of them just for Aesthetics if not anything else. I got them free with some Peruvianus v Ancash and my favorite Peruvianus v Forma Blue. I hope to have all of them together in the ground soon.
I can't eat cactus anyway. For one I could never bring myself to chop up something I've put so much time into plus I tried eating a San Pedro once and gagged so much I don't think I could bring myself to do it ever again. If anything it would be an extraction for me but shrooms are so much easier. Why bother with cactus for that reason. I'll stick to growing it.

Haha, ive only eaten it once too - strangely, i now grow my cacti too with no intention of eating them. Its pretty funny, my mates think im mad.
When i took it i ate a whole 8" like it was a cob of corn, i spewed too many times to count - but funnily enough San Pedro actually tastes much better regurgitated lol. It really does. Boiled down cactus shots taste foul, but with some decent chasers it is almost un-noticeable. I would definately like to "connect with the earth" again some time soon.
I noticed you had some PT v tarmensis sturmer? What do you think of them? I really want to grow some, they look so damn cool.

Thats the type I was reffering to. The pic of one of mine before rooting is above. The v Tarmansis is just below the v Ancash in the pic. It also looks that "preschooler" has the same.
They look pretty cool. It's just to bad there is so much confusion out there on weather they are really PT or not. I guess allot of it has to do with Knize and his many lapses of judgment in labeling his finds. He's made allot of mistakes and doesn't even seem to attempt to correct them.
I'm no expert so I don't even pretend to understand it all. I've managed to pick up about 5-6 different Peruvianus Variations. I understand there are dozens more. You should really look into acquiring the Peruvianus v Forma blue. In my opinion it's the most beautiful I've come across. It's hard to find. Lately when looking the v Tarmansis seems to be what is mostly going around especially through the ethno vendors.

Yup i knew that - just my grammar was a bit skewed there, haha.
Do you think that the 'Tarmensis'/KK242 have mongrel genetics or something? I heard they are really low in alkaloid content but that doesnt matter to me

Some people think that it could be hybridized with T Cuzcoensus which could account for it's low Alkaloid content. I'm not experienced eneough to give a good opinion. I'm glad to have a few for diversities sake but I'd rather stick with the established variations and clones which you will definitely not find from most of the ethno vendors. For some reason they all carry the KK242 specimens AKA Long spined peruvianus.
In order to find other variations i've had to rely on trades or auction sights. I've never been able to find a place that has a constant supply of anything but the KK242.

Here is that one "PT" I got from that vendor that I think sturmer is talking about. I don't think they are the same thing though.

Mine has grown a lot since that pic. The color of the new growth's spines hint on the red side now, as opposed to the pic. I don't know why.

so i finally got it up heehaw.... I gave it the whole three weeks to callous over. Actually had to cut another 1/2 inch off, because it had mold on the end when it came from the seller.I have to admit it took a lot of will power and self control not to cut a piece for myself.
she's crooked ...but I'm hoping she will straiten when the root gets established. And i know i need a larger pot but i have to save my money at the moment
