 Psychedelics and Anxiety

Whats up everyone, just signed up after reading around here for a few days. I have a few concerns on my mind. Just in the past 5 months Ive been experimenting with shrooms (3 times) , acid (just 6 days ago), and salvia mixed in a few times. I also smoke weed about every day.
Anyways, just the other day I smoked some salvia, thinking I would give it another chance. The first time I just had an anxiety attack and it was awful. This time, pretty much same story just not as bad. That night I realized things were kind of different. I smoked some bud with my friends and thought I saw a dog walk around that isnt there(corner of my eye). Not a big deal I know, but it was pretty bizzare. Anyways as I was going to sleep Id look at the walls and they were almost breathing like on shrooms and everything seemed a little distorted.
Woke up the next morning still feeling a little weird. I was like, man all these colors very vivid, maybe some of this trippin is makin me see this. Then I just started feeling very spacey. Eventually I just had an anxiety attack and it was awful, I was frieked out for quite a while.
So my question the to the shroomery: Do you think it was from the salvia? Or a combination of my new use of psychedilcs in general. Keep in mind I did LSD 6 days ago.

most likely. i dont doubt that you saw anything like that, but i have never had a flashback to speak of. the only drug that has made me see stuff like that is dramamine...i had slight halucinations for like 2 days or so.
were you tired at the time by chance? if your mind is going to do stuff like that to you, being tired makes it way more likely. i would say not to stress about it because if there are any chemical or psychological effects remaining, they arent going to last, as long as you dont dwell on the. i dont even do salvia anymore, i have a freak out nearly every time...it doesnt seem worth it to me.

Like the above user said, its really all in your head. Because you are new to psychedelics you may not be used to these new state of minds. Learn to enjoy what happening. And on a side note, the sess can bring on some visuals like you described, but there is no reason to have an anxiety attack over it. Enjoy it and live on!

Thanks for the quick replies! Yeah, I think a lot of it is in my head. I've just never had anxiety like that before, and just wanted to some reassurance. Hopefully in a weeks time I'll be feelin' like a million bucks. Oh I don't know if this matters, but I grew up with OCD, so that could be a potential factor. But thanks nonetheless.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: If the acid trip was a heavy, significant, or unpleasant experience I would guess this is the "aftermath" or "epilogue" of the trip. This is a period of foggy-ness when your cognition is trying to get back into its place. For me this usually lasts about 1-3 days but a few very heavy-level 5+++ experiences have had a primary afterglow of about 2-3 weeks. Once I took 8 hits of acid, had a bad experience, and I was physical ill and mentally out-of-place (schizophrenic-like symptoms).You may have also acquired HPPD, a "condition" that affects a decent percentage of psychedelic users (including myself), but it's no big deal a few visual disturbances and what-not I actually kind of like it.  INDEED psychedelics are very very very powerful tools and what they do is completely up to you. This post is probably irrelevant but I was bored and thought I'd try to relate and let you know everything is going to be okay I swear. Just know visual disturbances wont harm you!  IT"LL BE OK!!!

I can't believe there are people out there who actually enjoy HPPD. Having static vision 24/7, sober closed-eye-visuals and a perma-spaced out feeling - it can't possibly be fun, can it?
I'm lucky to have got away with only a bit of static vision...I'd hate to get stuck in HPPD land.

if you think you're going crazy, thinking about if you are or not will probably make you go crazy. relax. meditate? being more balanced like that really helped calm my anxiety sober or not.
sorry for a new question, but who here considers themselves to have HPPD? hundreds of dxm trips in my youth brought that about for me.

I guess I do. I have visuals a lot of the time when I'm sober, but I can function totally normally if I need to.

Trust me, it fucking sucks beyond belief.... and here it is about 7 months later with no signs of getting better for me. Hasn't gotten any worse but certainly has not improved in the least bit

Ah, so I may possibly have some HPPD. Hopefully it will go away since I havn't really abused psychedelics too much? I just don't like the anxiety. Maybe i'm just havin a rough couple days.

The number of times you use it does not affect whether or not you get it. You can get it the first time or the thousandth. Hell, I got symptoms after my 3rd trip.
