Alright, so it's volleyball tournament week here in Reno, we've got thousands of highschool volleyball teams in, and they're all eating out at restaurants. Massive jailbait but looking doesn't get you in trouble, right? Anyway, onto the story.
So I'm at work and I'm working on my tables, when the table next to me (a different server's table) starts complaining about the volleyball menus, saying that they're too small and blahblahblah. So we give them the normal menus. So they're pissed but now a little 'happier' after that. I'm just watching this all go down.
They finish up and get their check and they spent a good 450 dollars worth of food. They saw the sales tax and threw a FIT! They came up to my manager saying how they'd never have to pay this sales tax and crap elsewhere, and my manager's sitting there trying to explain it's impossible not to pay sales tax here, it's a federal offense to evade taxes, even sales taxes, but the guy starts douching it and threatens not to tip because of the sales tax. Then he did stiff the two waitresses out of at least 80 bucks, they should have gotten 80 bucks.
So wtf is up with that? I was standing there right next to the guy when he said he wouldn't tip, and I just said right out loud to him on accident (just kinda slipped out) "Bad Karma man... this'll come back around..."
The guy glared at me all night after that until they left. I was hoping he'd wait outside for me but he didn't.
Anyway, wtf do you think about that? Is tales tax of 7% really THAT outrageous that these douches really needed to screw over a single mother and a college student?
Whatever, this world's starting to piss me off.

That shit is funny man.
So a Canadian walks into the states and is used
to paying outrageous taxes and bitches about ours
when that nigger is here for the health care benefits
a job and all the other free things this country has
to offer.
And make no mistake when a Canadian gets home he refers
to the Usa as the butthole down under.

i would agree its fucked up not to tip, i can just imagine how much it sucks to wait on so many volleyball players. but i wouldn't say all canadians are like this, thats like saying all mexicans are taco eating boarder hoppers. just because one guy is a douche doesn't mean you have to stereotype. if you weren't stereotyping than im sorry to flame but this thread is starting to head in that direction. and im drunk

My experience with Canadians has always been that they are super laid back, cool and friendly. He must have missed the hockey playoffs because of volleyball. That'll piss a Canadian off.

Reason I stated "These Canadians" Not "Canadians" I also capitalized These. :O I said canadians because you guys pay shitloads of taxes compared to us.

We get tons of French Canadians here in South Florida and when I worked in a couple restaurants in Hollywood the rule was Canadians do not tip ever.
It's not a stereotype it is a rule, they never tip.
I can say they always got a healthy diet of spit and urine from the servers, not me though.

Around here, we don't have sales tax. What you see on the menu, or on the price tag, is what you pay. Of course the prices are higher because the importer has to pay duties and customs when the item arrives on island.
