I used spores and stem butts with fluffy mycelium on them, this patch i have in old grass clppings fruits tons of subbs and when you pull them up there is a ton of myc on the bottom its perfect for starting a grow.

Yeah, stem butts are good because there is mycelium on them, which can immeadiately start spreading, given the right conditions. Spores have to germinate first, which is an extra step for things to go wrong.

Coolness. I did a little of both stem butts and spore prints, so that shit can just take off.
i mixed fresh h poo in with the soil, tossed the ground up, and also dug the patch down a little. i figure if the rest of the ground is higher, my patch will retain moisture better. I spread a lil poo on top of the sod, and watered.
i also did a straight up poo and grass substrate. i used grass instead of straw because i have no source of straw close by. well see what happens...

Sounds good. I didn't realize what you were doing. It all makes sense now. Creative. I don't think moisture retention will be a problem for the developing mycelium.

Wow, very cool. I like how the real mushroom is growing next to the fake mushroom. They definitely do look like subbs! The subbs must enjoy the moisture and shade provided by the sod. I wonder if grass from seed would do even better than sod. My favorite manure pile has a section where grass took hold, and that's where I find the lunkers. The grass is around 8-15 inches tall.
Keep us posted on that.

Well, I've obviously constructed a good habitat, bedause mushrooms are growing very well... ive been keeping it watered. a couple look like the common lawn mushrooms, but a couple are beginning to look interesting.
